L'Antica Taverna In Volterra

A typical Tuscan restaurant in the historic center of Volterra. Very courteous and helpful (and friendly) staff. The menu offers a wide variety of traditional Italian dishes, including local specialties with unique recipes (I recommend the truffle-based pasta dishes and the sweet and spicy wild boar). Excellent wine selection. The price is absolutely in line with the quality of the food and service. They even welcomed our large dog, bringing a bowl of water. Extremely satisfied. Highly recommended.

Delicious food, neat and clean restaurant.

We had a really good meal here, the staff were friendly, and the owner was helpful. And my wife said she'd had the best pasta she'd ever had, and that for 13 euros!

We had diner at this restaurant. The waiters were very friendly and spoke good English. I had the spaghetti carbornara and it was the best i’ve had. The tiramisu was also really good.

The service was the sweetest here. We enjoyed a gorgeous dinner and everything was very delicious. Good food, good wine and lovely people. What's better than this? Grazie a tutti

While visiting the beautiful town of Volterra, my intuition and the good reviews led me to this place for lunch, and I must say it was a great choice. After listening to and following the excellent advice of the friendly and knowledgeable Tuscan waiter, we opted for an appetizer and main course. The traditional dishes were noteworthy, and the wild boar in dolceforte, an ancient Tuscan dish from the Renaissance, deserves special mention. If you're in the area, Antica Taverna is definitely worth a try. Highly recommended.

Very nice restaurant and super friendly service. They made a pizza especially for us, even though they only serve it in the evening. I had a 4-cheese pizza and my husband had a galzone. The crust was delicious, but there was a bit too little topping on it.

We wanted to try traditional Tuscan or Volterran dishes, and we succeeded! The waiter was friendly and very knowledgeable in suggesting and explaining the various dishes... we'll definitely be back because everything was excellent!!! See you next time in Tuscany!
