10 - stars for us. Visiting from Florida & staying in Menaggio. Genuine hospitality & we felt very welcome. After reading about the famous “cheese balls” made with local buckwheat we had them of course. I could have eaten an entire order by myself! Delicious wine-shrimp ravioli-osso buco - tiramisu- grappa-limoncello…we were finally full. Plenty of parking. Nicely decorated restaurant & such nice owners! A must for anyone visiting the area!

No trip to the west side of Lake Como is complete without a meal at La Vecchia Magnolia. Umberto runs a fabulous restaurant in every respect. Everything is spotless and in order. The windows are so clean you can hardly see the glass. Service is perfect. And the food is always superb. I have been returning here often since I first discovered it in 2019. I have always loved every bite and every sip of wine here, and so have the various friends I have brought with me. Definitely eat here and enjoy the great food, friendly staff, and cozy atmosphere.

21/07/2024: Since our last visit in 2022, the bar has obviously been spruced up in 2024 and now looks more attractive. We haven't eaten here yet but at least the food at the neighboring tables looked good. Remarkable: we only ordered drinks but received a large selection of free snacks. I've never seen anything like that 😳

21/09/2024: Comme ça, ça ne paie pas de mine. Mais vite on voit que les locaux viennent manger là, c’est déjà bon signe. Puis le patron dans un bon français vient t’expliquer les plats du jour avec les produits de saison. Le cèpe en l’occurrence. On s’est régalé. La vraie cuisine italienne comme on aime avec le sentiment d’être un peu chez soi.
08/07/2024: The best ravioli I’ve ever eaten! So fresh and full of flavour, I could have eaten it forever! The restaurant was busy with locals which was nice to see, if we hadn’t been so shattered from a day exploring lake como I think we would have stayed for dessert but unfortunately we needed to get to bed!
