Excellent baked fish, not exciting first courses, good wine list, good service

We went for dinner on Sunday, unfortunately it was a disappointing evening and the restaurant did not meet our expectations... Maybe we were unlucky on the evening, I'm sorry to say but the quality wasn't the best. As an appetizer we had baby octopus with polenta which was good, and a raw one that only my partner ate which apparently wasn't very fresh. We waited almost an hour for lobster linguine which was nothing special. I must say that the staff were very kind and helpful, they went out of their way to apologize for the wait and their professionalism in the face of mistakes was appreciated. As for the second courses, I ate an ok, slightly unbalanced fry, 80% shrimp and 20% squid. My partner, on the other hand, had some calamari and octopus which he practically didn't touch because they were rubbery and leaking water, he sent them back. The portions are definitely generous! Our disappointment was mainly with the food which was not up to what we would have liked. The environment was good and the service was impeccable, everyone was kind.

I have already written another review with 5 stars and this time, given my critical nature, I was determined to find some flaws. Impossible !! The place is packed. As soon as the bread (good) menu and water arrived. 5 minutes and order taken. Amuse bouche immediately. I choose the wine this time in a fairly low price range in the high 20s. Exceptional . Small family business from Trentino, REITL unterhofer wine, delicious. The raw food arrives, excellent. Then follows fried, grilled and octopus with gaspacho. EXCELLENT all. Before that, 3 excellent oysters, and 3 spicy shots with gin and Tabasco and oyster. Two truly excellent desserts. Wide choice of appreciable wines and liqueurs by the glass. A mention for GIANNI, sommelier (and owner) and SANDRA, at the tables with elegance and discretion for 20 years! I will return as soon as possible.

L'asticella è sempre più alta a "La Trattoria del Pesce". Il personale sempre più preparato, professionale, accogliente ed affabile. La materia prima sempre più fresca e qualitativamente apprezzabile. Evoluzioni continue sia nelle preparazioni che nelle presentazioni. Un livello generale ECCELLENTE, difficilmente riscontrabile altrove. Cambiando l'ordine degli addendi il risultato non cambia. Cambiando l'ordine dei fattori il prodotto non cambia...semmai MIGLIORA!!! ELEMENTARE WATSON! Chapeau!!!

Il tempo passa ma la qualità del pescato e l’eccellenza del servizio rimangono invariati, location eccezionale servizio attento pesce di prim’ordine,, prezzi in linea con la qualità, in più l’eccellenza della cantina, un grazie a Gianni e tutto lo staff,, a presto
