Traveling in Umbria. We didn't plan on stopping here for lunch, but we decided to stop here... what can I say? Besides the kindness of the staff, we ate a fantastic porchetta pork and a lentil and sausage soup that was nothing short of sublime. We're not the easiest people to get excited about, but really, congratulations!

The green woods on the hills surrounding Perugia stretch as far as the eye can see. The Valnerina valley welcomes you with an air of mystery, all around is silent, only the sound of the car engine revving uphill. Suddenly, as if by magic, Vallo di Nera appears in all its majestic beauty: a castle built to touch the sky, the Castrul Valli, the stone houses perched within, and mighty walls protecting one of the most beautiful villages in Italy.
At the foot of the valley, before entering the village, another surprise awaits, a precious gem nestled in the greenery: the Taverna del Bordone, a traveler's oasis, where the menu exudes the aroma of wild herbs, the flavor of ragù enhanced by the pork, the freshness of ricotta and borracine as a filling for handmade ravioli, truffles abundantly enriching almost every dish, and strangozzi cooked and seasoned in a variety of ways. All this followed by a generous platter of cured meats and cheeses, and bruschetta to whet your appetite. The house white wine was excellent, with a long aftertaste that complemented the rich flavors of the food. Ultimately, considering the punctuality and friendliness of the service, this is a place worth a shout out!
