I honestly don't understand or agree with the negative reviews about this restaurant. Tonight, my wife and daughter ate with us after making a reservation over the phone in the afternoon, and the young man who answered was friendly and kind. I've always known the atmosphere and the restaurant, even though I hadn't been there in a few years. The host is the same as always, attentive and courteous in attending to each table, with just the right amount of passion and politeness. I ate a pork cheek that let me experience the full flavor of a delicate yet flavorful dish. And then there were the homemade cookies made by Attilio's wife... pure poetry.
Unfortunately, there are people out there who think that if they pay, they can do anything. I believe that every time I try or return to a restaurant, I go to explore and understand what that place has to offer, but I'm always a guest. If I like it, I'm happy to pay and return. If I don't, it means it's not what I needed at that moment. Attilio made me feel good tonight, so chapeau!

If you're looking for the essence of mountainous Abruzzo, La Rua is a must-see. Nestled among the charming alleys of the village, this restaurant welcomes you with the warmth typical of old-world homes, where stone and wood frame authentic, sincere cuisine deeply rooted in the local area.
Here, tradition isn't an excuse, but a mission. From appetizers featuring local cheeses and exquisite cured meats to first courses that taste "handmade" (honorable mention for the soups!), every bite speaks of the Majella.
On the downside, almost always only one type of soup is available—a shame.

The property doesn't have private parking, so they encourage you to park on the street. After less than three hours there, they scratched my car door, causing significant damage. The owner of the property was mainly concerned that they'd scratched his car...almost forgetting that I had sustained the damage. It was so low-grade to witness that scene that it convinced me to leave and not spend the night there.
They charged me two-thirds of the full amount despite having been there only a few hours...not to mention the damage.
Terrible experience...never again.
