Very central place and with something more than a trattoria regarding the furnishings. Excellent Bolognese cuisine well served in a quality environment. Friendly staff and quick service. Logically the prices are compared to the environment. Advised

The portions were very small. The tortellini for €15 consisted of exactly six tortellini. Overpriced for that. The tortellini were undercooked, but tasted very good.

This restaurant is a gem! For starters, their caprese is bursting with fresh flavors. And for the main course, you can't go wrong with their tagliatelle al ragù and tortellini in brodo di carne – both are local specialties and highly recommended in Bologna. The waiters are helpful and friendly which makes our experience even memorable.

It was probably no coincidence that the restaurant was almost completely empty. Service was sometimes rude, there wasn't even quiet music (and therefore completely silent) and the bad mood between the employees was palpable. In the end, the managing director couldn't save it even with a limoncello on the house. Unfortunately, the pizza couldn't do much more than the service - it was almost tasteless and the dough became tough after a short time. All in all a failure.

It is always a pleasure to return to the Mela. Fresh and best quality products. Pierpaolo and his entire team go out of their way to make you feel at home. A treasure in the center of Bologna that offers variety for all tastes

Nel cuore della Bologna magistralmente cantata da Guccini, si trova questo ottimo ristorante-pizzeria. Ogni volta che andiamo a Bologna una visita è d’obbligo, perché si mangia meravigliosamente bene. Pizza e ristorante sono fantastici, i dolci deliziosi. Il personale è molto attento, cortese e professionale, il titolare molto cordiale e gentile.

23/03/2024: I usually rely on locals' recommendations, and this place isn't on the typical tourist path. I wanted to try as many local dishes as possible, so I asked if they could serve half portions, which they happily agreed to. The waiter suggested some must-try dishes: Tagliatelle al ragu (Bolognese), Tortelloni with butter and sage, Tortellini in broth, and risotto with artichoke. Let me describe each dish simply: The Tagliatelle was outstanding, the Tortellini was good but a bit dry, Tortellini in broth is an acquired taste, and the risotto had a rich, flavorful artichoke taste that made me doubt they added essence. Overall, my experience was fantastic—the service and wine recommendation were spot-on. I highly recommend this place.
