La Lopa was a lovely surprise! The waiter, Adriano, was very knowledgeable and he very kindly assisted us throughout the night. The local wine pairing he recommended was excellent too (Spaccasassi 2022). The peppers were DIVINE. Baccala fritto was perfectly fried without it feeling too oily or heavy. Both dishes of pasta we ordered were excellent and I also have to mention their olive oil; highest possible quality! Last but not least - their tiramisu was one of the best we ever had! We usually do not order it unless it is recommended, as many restaurants rarely get it right. But, since we were in Southern Italy where they rarely get things wrong, I was inclined to order it. Both my partner and I fell in love and ordered a second one!

My wife and I were visiting Matera and found this place very characteristic and fresh. The staff were very kind and professional. They welcomed us with bread and typical oil. Afterwards we ordered a platter of typical cured meats and cheeses (superlative) and then two really delicious first courses. We finished with two truly special desserts!!!! Priced at €86, honest. Highly recommended!!!!

Excellent restaurant, carefully prepared dishes, undoubtedly created by a very competent chef. The owner was very kind and welcoming, and the staff was truly efficient, friendly, and very knowledgeable. As tiramisu experts from Treviso, we had to admit that the tiramisu designed and created by the owner was delicious and very special. More than just a normal dinner, for us it was a wonderful culinary experience. I recommend it!

Amazing restaurant! Service was amazing. I think the server’s name was Ricardo. Great suggestions, the bacala tartare, Fave, and Pignata were out of this world!

The restaurant is located in the heart of the Sassi. We went on the recommendation of our host Pippo. The restaurant is very quaint, made of stone, and truly beautiful. The food is superb. Everything is truly delicious. We found the staff kind, welcoming, and professional.

Great food and really cool cave interior. Loved the vegetarian options. The best eggplant I've ever had. The ice cream was also off the charts. I was also happy to see a variety of whiskey on the drink menu.

A lovely, quaint restaurant with rooms inside the rock. I really appreciated the fact that they re-offered a dish that had been poorly executed. The desserts and wine were good.

A welcoming place now also with the addition of the Retrobottega wine bar and bistro on the upper floor.
