Excellent experience at this restaurant: exceptional in every way: location, food, service, atmosphere.

A unique experience. Good food, friendly service, and authentic Basilicata flavors in a unique location. The dishes we tasted were truly excellent, and the kindness of the waiters really made it special. A must-try in Matera!

We had lunch on a Sunday in late November; first of all, I recommend booking because the restaurant is very popular and doesn't have a lot of seating. We chose it because, after reading the menu online, we found it interesting and with a competent focus on vegetarian food (very rare to find a board of vegetable-rennet cheeses in a restaurant). Our expectations were therefore quite high, but they were far exceeded in every way. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and refined, the service professional and attentive without being intrusive, Andrea recommended an excellent wine, managing to satisfy my husband's and my requests, and finally, the most important aspect: the cuisine, with excellent fresh pasta, bread meatballs that taste like grandma's home-made bread, and a delicious and light homemade dessert. The price was fair for the quality offered. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful lunch at La Lopa — the food was absolutely delicious. The lamb in a bag was excellent, and the chef’s surprise side was surprisingly good. We had really hoped to visit the cinema, but it wasn’t operating at lunchtime. The staff encouraged us to return in the evening, and we’re so glad we did. We certainly didn’t regret it!

An excellent experience at La Lopa restaurant. We were warmly welcomed by Paolo, who was able to advise us and explain each dish in detail with passion and precision. The dishes were meticulously presented and characterized by bold yet perfectly balanced flavors. The location is unique: an ancient cave finely renovated with a modern twist. We will definitely return on our next visit to Matera. Congratulations to the owners and all the staff!
