Good food, they found a table for us without reservation, but it is off season so not that surprising.
The carpaccio was delicious, as was the meatballs. The water brought over live lobsters and fresh cuts of meat. We decided to order the red lobster, even though it was too much food with everything else we ordered, but we wanted to try it on our first night in Italy.
My only regret is not asking the price, but they say if you have to ask the price you cannot afford it. The bill came and the lobster was €140, not including rest of the meal.
I don't mind the price for good food, but in my opinion they should state the market price of the catch somewhere so you have an idea of how much you'll pay for one lobster. I was expecting less than 100 euro so the surprise was a little unpleasant.
But, that's no reason to reduce rating, the quality and service were excellent, just stating it so others learn from me.

A small glass of sparkling wine offered to welcome us. The tuna carpaccio was excellent. Then a potato and parmesan crusted sea bass and perfectly grilled octopus. The wine...everything was perfect. At a more than reasonable price. Thank you so much.

It was a great experience from the moment we arrived. Lots of small attentions, glasses of champagne, snacks, small desserts in addition to the ordered meals. All dishes were excellent. Advance booking is required.

We went for lunch on a Sunday... excellent food... try the ricotta tart, delicious... kind and welcoming waiters... if you are in Polignano, stop in this restaurant...

Gli affacci di Polignano a mare ti lasciano scrutare l’orizzonte sognando storie di onde e di pace ma il sapore del mare lo vivi davvero alla Locanda Porta Picc.
Prenotato il giorno prima per il giorno dopo siamo stati a pranzo alla Locanda il 29 luglio 2024, per un pranzo in due.
La freschezza del pesce, la genuinità e la gentilezza del personale, la professionalità, la puntualità del servizio, la cura nei piatti, nelle ricette, nell’accoglienza dell’ambiente e delle persone che ci lavorano hanno reso questa esperienza estremamente felice e positiva. Bella scelta di vini locali, olio extra vergine al tavolo ottimo. I crudi di pesce sono tra i più buoni e freschi che abbia mai mangiato. Consigliatissimo!
