The Innkeeper is a difficult profession. And when the innkeeper puts his all into it, surrounded by a staff who keeps up with him, the place is always packed! Chef Sante prepares dishes from the sea, waiters who know the raw materials and preparations and... Host Marzantonio who knows what he's doing! Always very faithful!

In the lively historic center of Monopoli, among lights, scents and commercial liveliness, the Locanda dei Mercanti also carves out its rightful space. Two random visits over time with different groups and two satisfactions fully appreciated not only by myself. Welcoming restaurant due to the sociability of the staff, capable of professionalism and interaction with customers. Friendly environment simply furnished in nautical style. Efficient and effective kitchen in transforming quality products into succulent and captivating dishes. You can vary between cooked appetizers and raw seafood ones without ever having any flaws on the palate. The proposal of the two "tastings" of first courses did not disappoint on both occasions in terms of taste and quantity. The tubes with redfish soup are a caress to the taste buds. The mixed fried seafood with calamari, prawns, cod and red mullet is dry and fragrant. To finish, sorbet and the inevitable "sporcamuso" as dessert. In closing, satisfied and satiated, we could only thank the owner Antonio for an upcoming tasty return. The photos, a pleasant mix of memories of both events.

Per la prima volta io e i miei amici abbiamo mangiato in questo posto e l'esperienza è stata più che ottima. Il titolare Antonio ci ha consigliato cosa prendere e il risultato è stato che tutto il cibo dall'antipasto al dolce ha superato di molto le nostre aspettative. Abbiamo scelto tutti il crudo di mare ( freschissimo) e gli antipasti assortiti + assaggio di 2 primi e frittura mista ( ottima ) . Il prezzo pagato è stato giusto per la qualità offerta. Ci ritorneremo sicuramente con gli amici . Location consigliata a Monopoli .
