The cuisine left a somewhat mixed impression: The beef tartare – coarsely chopped, as is typical in Lombardy – was barely chewable due to the poor quality of the meat; the pappardelle with lamb ragu were missing the lamb and were quite dry overall, whereas the paccheri with scampi and zucchini were impeccable. The chocolate tortino was, as expected, delicious. The knowledgeable and friendly service deserves praise.

We stumbled across this restaurant tonight and, at first glance, it looked really promising. We asked for a table for three in the courtyard and were seated promptly, which was a great start. The courtyard itself is lovely, intimate, with a nice atmosphere and soft lighting.
The menu also impressed us, with a good range of starters, antipasti, mains, grilled meats and desserts. The beverage list was simple but perfectly adequate.
We ordered the risotto carnaroli alla Milanese to start, followed by the sea bass as my main, which was described as being served with a Mediterranean-style reduction and fondant potatoes. The dish arrived beautifully presented, although the fondant potatoes were missing. I chose not to raise this at the time.
The fish itself was initially very good—well cooked and full of flavour. However, partway through the meal, I bit into a piece with a significant amount of scale, which was quite unpleasant.
While the restaurant was busy, no one checked in on our table during the meal. When staff came to clear our plates, I mentioned the issue. This was relayed to another staff member, but there was no acknowledgement or response.
When we went to pay, we raised it again—my husband explained in Italian, I showed photos, and another waiter assisted in translating—but the only response we received was “ok,” with no apology or recognition of the issue.
I've never sent food back to the kitchen, and I wasn’t expecting anything to be taken off the bill. A simple apology and acknowledgment would have gone a long way. Unfortunately, the lack of acknowledgement left us feeling quite disappointed, and we chose to leave without ordering dessert.

Everything was excellent...the service, atmosphere and food were truly excellent...compared to some time ago, the main dish, risotto with ossobuco, has less rice...I suggest adding a little more both for the price and because it's really good.

A restaurant definitely worth a visit. At Cucina di Via Zucchi, you can sense a true passion for Italian cuisine: traditional dishes interpreted with great care and attention to the quality of the ingredients.
The cuisine is authentic yet refined, combining respect for tradition with a contemporary twist. Special mention goes to the tagliolini with truffle, simply extraordinary in their aroma and balance, and to the pigeon, cooked in a creative and modern way without sacrificing the intensity and elegance of the flavor.
A truly enjoyable gastronomic experience, with well-executed dishes rich in flavor. A recommended destination for those seeking quality Italian cuisine in a welcoming atmosphere.
