La Casina In Viareggio

Christmas lunch set menu. Everything was excellent, from appetizer to dessert. The staff were knowledgeable and extremely friendly, the service was prompt, and the place was spotless. I highly recommend it and will definitely be back.

Update December 2025: We celebrated Christmas here with our family. Service was excellent, and the food was excellent. Three seafood appetizers (see photo) cost €60 (paccheri with cherry tomatoes, scampi, clams, and lupini beans), mixed fried fish with anchovies and fried vegetables, and panettone with cream, water, wine, and coffee. It was sold out. Update 2025: Everything is always great at La Casina! --- We're regulars at this restaurant, and I can say it's an extremely good restaurant, especially for the price. The dishes are good and plentiful, and there's no cover charge. I recommend the tagliolini with lobster, the seafood sauté, and the cacciucco (fish stew). Located in the Viareggio pine forest, 200 meters from the sea, it offers both indoor and outdoor seating, with air conditioning. During high season, it's better to reach it by bike than by car due to the lack of parking in the area (free parking nearby from 1-3 PM and after 8 PM). They often offer a free after-dinner drink at the end of the meal. - August 2023. This year too, we've been to the local restaurant a couple of times, always top-notch. The seafood is good and plentiful, and there's a fixed-price menu available (4 appetizers, 2 first courses, fried food, and water, plus wine). The staff is friendly and helpful, and there's a wide variety of "ammazza caffè" (afternoon tea) for those like me who don't get the usual "amaro del Capo" (a bitter liqueur). Don't be put off by anyone who complains about slow service. The staff is always busy, but when there's a lot of people, you might have to wait, but that means you'll eat well!

I visited this restaurant for a dinner with colleagues. The dinner consisted of a cured meats appetizer and a pizza platter (various tastings). I have to say that the appetizer was my favorite because the fried gnocco arrived piping hot and paired perfectly with the cured meats. The pizzas were good but nothing special. The staff who served us were attentive and punctual, which is not a given with such a busy room, so well done. The price was more than fair.

The restaurant is located just steps from the promenade and is very quaint; parking isn't easy. The seafood appetizers are delicious, especially the baby octopus and squid. The seafood risotto was perfectly cooked, and the tomato and fish mezze maniche were delicious. It's a shame about the main course, grilled fish, because it wasn't up to par with the other dishes. The service was excellent, and the price was reasonable.

The pizza was really good and well-filled, the place was warm, and the service was fast. They messed up the final bill. Since there were a large table, they gave the receipt to the birthday girl, who had to make do with telling everyone how much they'd pay, and then we went to the cashier one by one... But wouldn't it have been quicker to just go to the cashier, tell them, and pay? Plus, they added dishes from other tables... Chaos!

Excellent quality, excellent service, excellent staff. Beautiful and inviting atmosphere.

Excellent seafood restaurant, good value. It has expanded over the years, but the food is still excellent.
