I went to Il Vecchio e il Mare in Florence tonight and was really satisfied. We had pizza, and it was excellent: light dough, well-cooked, and high-quality ingredients. The place is beautiful and well-kept, welcoming, and pleasant. The service was also quick and friendly, which always makes a difference. I have to be honest, after seeing some of the pasta dishes pass by, we almost regretted not ordering them 😅 because they looked so inviting. It will definitely be an excuse to come back! Excellent value for money. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to eat well in Florence. 🍕

We went here for dinner and had a really good time. Everything was delicious, but I have to give a special compliment for the gluten-free pizza. My girlfriend is celiac, and it's never easy to find a truly good pizza... but here she loved it! The dough was light, well-cooked, and above all, tasty, which is not a given for a gluten-free place. You can tell they put a lot of care and attention into it.

After reading the reviews, I expected something better. The service was okay, nothing special, even a bit "cold" compared to other restaurants in the city. The food was good, but don't expect large portions.

All of the bars were closed or full nearby, the staff was so lovely and helpful, they allowed us to stay for only a few cocktails and beer!

We visited Il Vecchio e il Mare pizzeria in Florence, recently named one of the Top 50 Pizzerias in Italy, and had a decidedly positive experience. We ordered two pizzas, and they were truly delicious: we were particularly impressed by the dough, soft yet firm, perfectly balanced. The ingredients are also excellent, all top-quality, and the attention to quality is clearly evident. It's also appreciated that the menu lists the origins of the ingredients, a detail that shows how much care goes into each pizza. Considering the high quality and the location in the heart of Florence, the price is absolutely reasonable—in fact, I'd say more than fair. The only slightly less positive note concerns the location: in the winter, with many tables inside, too close together, the dining room isn't particularly appealing. Perhaps in the summer, with the option of eating outside in the al fresco dining area, the atmosphere changes completely, and the place certainly gains a lot of points. That said, the bill was excellent, the pizza excellent. I give it an 8.5. I would definitely go back.

I dined at this restaurant after winning an Instagram contest on the Il Vecchio e il Mare page, guessing the weight of a tuna. The prize was a tuna-based dinner: carefully prepared dishes, top-quality ingredients, and well-balanced flavors. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant. A unique experience, highly recommended.
