Il Trovatore In Parma

Delicious traditional food, from appetizers to desserts. Highly recommended!

We were here for lunch today at Trovatore. We organized a trip to Parma and contacted this restaurant. The menu was €30.00, including mixed cold cuts, an omelette, two first courses, water, and a sbrisolona. The portions were truly ridiculous: 5 ravioli per person and 4 small bowls of gnocchi for a table of 26 people. Dessert was served on three shared plates with a couple of bowls of mascarpone cream. Obviously, it wasn't enough for the whole table. But unfortunately, it was all gone. There wasn't any left... ridiculous... we told the owner, who pretended to apologize... but by then he'd pocketed the money and didn't even bother to offer us a coffee... disappointing. It's obvious we won't be returning, and above all, we won't speak highly of the place. I'm sorry because he lost out on a few more portions... shame.

Quick lunch while passing through Parma, but excellent choice.

One of the best dinners of the last five years. The atmosphere is subdued, with Verdi music (the restaurant's theme), yet it's not fancy. The appetizers and first courses are wonderful. The "vecchia di cavallo" (horsemeat pie) is a must-try. The owner is friendly and knowledgeable.

Good food and friendly service. On a Wednesday evening in October, it was packed inside at half past eight. We sat outside. We recommend booking a table.

One of the best place in Parma, food was divine so was wine and olive oil accompanying with fresh bread. Antipasti plate was huge and service so profesional and friendly. We felt well fed and looked after.

We had a delicious dinner here with excellent service. We highly recommend the restaurant and would choose it again.

Our first visit was in 2020, and we're still delighted when we return this year. Quality service and consistently delicious food! A must-do for our future visits!

Super friendly staff. We came late after a very delayed train and they sat us immediately and gave us time to look over the menu. Both our pasta dishes were extraordinary, as was the wine. The standout was the Gazpacho which is INSANE! Lovely table on the footpath and inside was gorgeous too. Recommend!

One of the best meals I've ever had. Nothing could be improved. Friendly service, a warm welcome. Getting the bill took a bit of effort, even though we were seated in the back corner, so it should have been more obvious that we wanted to pay. This doesn't detract from the restaurant, highly recommended. I'm almost considering going back there next time and ordering the same thing. The steak and sauce were perfectly balanced. Kudos!
