Refined atmosphere, professional and friendly staff, delicious typical dishes from the Chioggia area. Good fried Catalan cuisine, which could be improved.

December 31, New Year's Eve lunch instead of dinner in the center of Sottomarina. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, excellent appetizers, delicious first and second courses, and a price in line with the overall quality.

My wife and I enjoyed a truly exceptional meal there on December 20, 2025. Michelin-star quality ✨. Our waitress, who was also an excellent sommelier, "Ilaria," served us in very good German with humor and wit. We thank her for an unforgettable culinary experience. In its new location in the center of Sottomarina, the restaurant is refined and chic, with a large window overlooking the city center, making it enchanting. Upon arrival, we were greeted very kindly; they asked us for coats, showed us to our table, and brought us some bag hooks—a real treat. We had a varied and delicious mixed seafood appetizer for two, all accompanied by an excellent white wine, before moving on to a sensational mixed fried fish dish. The waitress served us with great kindness and professionalism throughout the meal, finally recommending an aged rum paired with dark chocolate. For me, Il Tavernino is a testament to the years of professionalism, passion, flavor, and hospitality that make lunch or dinner a truly special experience, in this splendid restaurant managed impeccably by the owners. The owner is a very kind person and very attentive to the customer's requests, and the owner, who is also the chef, is, what can I say... amazing in his passion. All these ingredients, combined with passion, dedication, and hospitality, make this restaurant, in my opinion, the best in the city.

14/02/2026: After a couple of years of passing through, I went to pick up some Italian-American friends at the airport. I'm a seafood connoisseur, including my friends, and I finally returned for lunch at this restaurant near Mestre. We ate a grilled octopus appetizer with a white bean sauce—an exceptional dish with a great, inviting flavor. I complimented the chef through a very knowledgeable young waiter who always served us with great attention. Then we had the classic risotto with go' and capetonde, a signature dish of this restaurant, much appreciated by my friends. Then we had fritelle and galani, a dessert for those with a sweet tooth, as it was Carnival time. An excellent wine cellar with both domestic and international wines, and an excellent, simple, slightly cloudy Prosecco, as was once the custom in trattorias. Eating at this restaurant is always a guarantee of quality, always featuring the freshest seafood, prepared by true gourmets with classic dishes and some truly remarkable historic dishes, and a wide selection on the extensive menu. Congratulations, you never betray the good taste of Venetian cuisine.
