I recommend stopping by the bar at the back of the restaurant before sitting at your table to enjoy some superb dishes (the truffle is worth the detour). Orazio's cocktails are to die for. Don’t hesitate to give your preferences because he will concoct a tailor-made nugget for you. I highly recommend

Absolutely best place to eat or drink in Catania. The service is amazing, and the quality is just all in all amazing. We will absolutely be visiting this place again, next time we’re in Italy. We can definitely recommend!

The pizza is very good, it is the “everything raw”. Pasta carbonara was delicious but it was not homemade (the pasta) and the standard pasta was great (also not homemade) The huge tiramisu and 10

Sicily #2, Catania #2, Italian #1, Pasta #1: our friends who got to Catania the night before saw this place their first night out, so we decided to come here for dinner. While the food was great, service was beyond bizarre. We arrived about an hour before close, and instead of saying anything, they seated us and then did everything they could to rush us through our meal. We ordered 2 apps/starters, 3 pastas, and a bottle of wine. The highlights of the meal were without question the tartare ~€10 + truffle spaghetti ~€16. Both were phenomenal. Because the food was so good, I wouldn't hesitate to come back. I'd just make sure to come well before closing hours.

sehr netter Empfang, Aussenbereich an quirliger Gasse, was aber nicht stört, umfangreiche Karte mit viel innovativen Angeboten (und Pizza, die sicher gut ist, es ist aber schade, hier „nur“ eine Pizza zu essen), wir hatten ein wunderbar angerichtetes Carpaccio von Garnelen mit Erdbeeren und einen Orangensalat mit einer grossen Menge wunderbarer Fenchelstreifen, mit dem hervorragenden Olivenöl des Hauses angemacht ein wunderbarer Genuss, das beste war aber der Thunfisch zum Hauptgang - besser kann man das nicht machen. Dazu sehr aufmerksame persönliche Bedienung, der Chef empfahl einen Cerasuolo von einem Produzenten, der nicht so bekannt ist - hat perfekt gepasst. Wir haben gleich nochmals reserviert! Bravo!

We had just the best pizzas in Sale tonight. margheritas, one with Parma ham & one with mushroom for only€9.30 each. Local etna rose wine was €24 so our dinner was less than €44 for delicious food & wine. And the staff made us very welcome & spoke better English than our Italian! Pay a visit, it’s fab.

Vermut

24/08/2024: Una sera ci trovavamo nei dintorni e non sapevamo bene dove andare. Un amico ha avuto l'idea di mangiare al Vermut, un pasto veloce, magari una patata lessa con qualche fungo buttato lì a rendere tutto un po' gourmet. L'idea era eccellente, così una cameriera ci ha trovato un tavolo al volo, ci ha fornito dei menu assolutamente incomprensibili e dopo qualche domanda più che esplicativa sule pietanze descritte, abbiamo ordinato. E' arrivato tutto in breve tempo: patate, funghi, salsicce, birre e pagnotte. Sembrava una specie di picnic della domenica; il perfetto connubio di cucina povera e abilità gastronomiche di uno chef che sa il fatto suo. Così, in meno di un'ora, ci siamo trovati con una pancia piena, appena 10 euro in meno e la gradevole piacevolezza di sapere che a Catania esistono ancora posti così.
21/08/2024: Ett otroligt ställe, genuint, autentiskt. Så mysigt med uteservering full av liv, kul och stökig inredning inomhus och öppet kök/deli där du ser hur personalen med glädje fixar och donar i full fart. Här blandas locals med turister. Kul meny med olika smårätter med italienska specialiteter. God mat, goda drinkar och mycket billigt i jämförelse med andra ställen trots hög kvalitet. Ett ställe jag gick tillbaka till flera gånger under min vistelse.

01/09/2024: Excellent place in the center of Catania, right behind Via Etnea in a slightly quieter and more exclusive area. It is possible to dine inside or outdoors. Wide choice of pizzas and salads all based on particular ingredients or with DOP origin. We ate really well; pizza and pinsa with traditional or special doughs. Fast and professional service, normal costs, a few starters, some desserts and a dish each cost us less than 20 euros per person. The place is always in great demand. I recommend booking and going early; the only difficulty is finding parking immediately. Recommended experience.
