12/11/2023: I have to say we were disappointed with our experience at Cortile Spirito Santo. We had high expectations after reading the reviews but it seemed to us that this restaurant is all about the chef and not about what the diners actually want. I say this because when one of us attempted to order from the tasting menu while the other preferred to order al a carte, we were informed that if one orders from the tasting menu, then both must order from the tasting menu because of the timing of the presentation of the dishes. Hmmm. OK. So one of us then attempted to order the fish tasting menu, while the other wanted the vegetarian tasting menu. Again we were told No, both must order the same tasting menu. Not to share, you have to order 2 of the same tasting menu. The chef (we were told) wants the dishes delivered together so you can't order different things. I guess what the customer wants is irrelevant. Fine. So we both ordered the fish tasting menu. The presentations of each dish were fabulous and the servers did a wonderful job of finishing the dishes (by pouring sauces, etc, on them at the table and explaining what each one was.) Mostly the food was very good but honestly, I could not say it was great. I did love the scallops. The sea bass that was cooked inside ravioli tasted bland. It felt like that dish was supposed to be special because it was cooked inside ravioli but it had no special flavor so I'm not sure what the point was of cooking it that way, unless it was to impress the diners as the server had to extract the fish from the dough at the table. The thrust of the experience was Wow this is cool presentation and doesn't this look nice. For some people that may be a good reason to spend $400 but for me the food better be great and please, let me order what I want from the menu.

04/11/2023: Bellissima location di Palazzo Salomone che si completa con questo elegante e giustamente ambizioso ristorante. Piatti sorprendenti più in termini di gusto che di aspetto (come preferiamo noi). Panificazione eccellente, servizio impeccabile.  Nota di merito per il risotto con astice, stracciatella, agrumi e basilico, ma soprattutto per il fantastico piatto "sua maestà il tonno". Meriterebbe una stella Michelin, complimenti!
