The restaurant was chosen completely by chance...and what can I say...the cuisine is top-notch and the staff is professional...I personally complimented them; they deserve it. The photo is of the dessert, a hazelnut semifreddo, made by a fine pastry shop.

Everything was truly delicious! I recommend the porcini mushroom flan with pecorino fondue and the pistachio panna cotta. Phenomenal 😍 Excellent service.

A PERFECT dinner! The food was top-notch, and the service was incredibly professional. They guided us through our selection of Brunello and Florentine steaks with excellent guidance. The dessert was also delicious (pistachio panna cotta), and excellent value. Plus, the location was wonderful, nestled in the heart of Montalcino's narrow streets...a dream! Highly recommended!

We found a table for lunch on Sunday without a reservation. Prices are in line with the rest of Montalcino; we ordered rabbit and acquacotta with roast potatoes. The main courses were average, with the potatoes being decidedly poorly made. The service was a bit cold, but that's in keeping with the type of place.

Long waiting time for the order, small portions, quite "stiff" service. One of the ordered dishes (grilled vegetables) was missing and an additional bottle of water was added to the bill. It all came together to make a rather disappointing impression.

Pizzeria il Fondaccio

01/09/2025: The pizzeria is located in a busy alleyway in Castellina. We stopped by spontaneously for dinner. The pizza arrived very quickly and was delicious. The staff was very attentive.
28/08/2025: We stayed for three nights for dinner and the service was very good and friendly, especially from the waiter Milko, a young guy but with very good customer service and a lot of sympathy, he made us come back for his friendly treatment and the detail of the last night was very special. Thank you! And we wish you all the best ❤️
