A friend who used to live in Como recommended the restaurant to us. We booked and drove up the “long and winding road” and arrived to one of the best dining experiences we have had in years. Combine breathtaking views over the lake from on high with exceptional service that combined good humour and professionalism AND with a menu that has dishes galore that would bring you back time and again. For entree we both had one of their specialty dishes, Egg 65 degrees with 24 month old Parmesan foam and black truffle. It was truly the stand out dish, so try it! We had expertly cooked chicken for main course - tender, flavoursome and satisfying. We would certainly return to Il Gatto Nero on our next trip to Italy.

Excepcional. Paolo está haciendo un excelente trabajo proporcionando un excelente servicio de comida en una zona dominada por la comida del hotel. Para aquellos que se quejan, solo tienen que hacernos un favor y dirigirse a Villa d’Este. Estarán encantados de darle alojamiento con un año de antelación.

Siamo tornati a cena al Gatto Nero e come sempre l’esperienza che riesci a vivere in questo luogo è memorabile l’ambiente e il calore, l’accoglienza, la professionalità e l’unicità di questo luogo rendono la tua serata straordinaria Cucina curata, carta dei vini in grado di soddisfare qualsiasi capriccio cos’altro posso chiedere se non di tornarci?

21/09/2025: The pastries are always fresh, especially the cannoncini, which remain the best in all of Como.
16/09/2025: we came here for lunch. could not get served by staff, and continually had to approach the bar for any service. the staff were chattering and laughing instead of serving customers. when serving customers they seemed disinterested. my food came out many minutes later than the rest of the meals with no apology. good food just very unorganised stuff/business.

Ristorante Pizzeria Darna

13/09/2025: Red wine is served chilled. Spaghetti carbonara wasn't particularly intense. Lasagna was okay. The salad was probably out of a package and had wilted cut edges. The trout served was a rainbow trout, a fish from a fish farm. A few hundred meters away, you can enjoy more authentic Italian cuisine.
12/09/2025: Very, very good food. Prices are absolutely reasonable. Service is very friendly and reliable. A look into the kitchen shows that everything is clean and cooked with love.
