I dined at Cortiletto a few nights ago and it was one of the best dining experiences I've ever had in Puglia. Nestled in the historic center of Lucera, this restaurant is a true gem: the setting is elegant and welcoming, with the charming internal courtyard creating a magical and intimate atmosphere, perfect for a special evening. The cuisine is a tribute to Puglian tradition, revisited with creativity and skill by chef Paolo, who uses only the highest quality, fresh, local ingredients. Each dish is impeccably presented, with balanced pairings and intense flavors that explode in the mouth. The appetizers are meticulously crafted, the first courses a triumph of flavor, and the second courses simply perfect. The wine list is also excellent, with excellent local labels. The service is impeccable: professional, friendly, and attentive, with the owner explaining the dishes with passion and charm, making you feel right at home. Usually, when a restaurant announces the menu orally, I have some difficulty memorizing the dishes and, above all, understanding the overall picture. Here, the opposite happened. Paolo explained the menu with details that piqued our curiosity, and he exceeded our expectations in the preparation of the dishes, so much so that we still remember the menu.

An excellent dinner presented with great care by Chef Paolo and his friendly hostess. Great attention was paid to flavors and the presentation was perfect, without the unnecessary embellishments so in vogue these days. The orecchiette with vegetables and the troccoli with mixed mushrooms and more were excellent. All accompanied by a perfect selection of a traditional local wine, a Cacc'e mitte, produced by a winery Chef Paolo encouraged us to visit. Thank you!
