Il Cavatappi In Varenna

This place was one of the most popular dinner spots with quite a bit of people waiting. We thankfully didn't have to wait too long as a pair. If your group is larger than a pair, it might be best to split into smaller groups. We ordered white wine, san pelligrino, pasta with fish, a burrata salad and salmon topped with pistachios. The salmon and burrata salad had such distinct and strong flavors. The burrata was refreshing and the salmon was savory with a nice crisp. The pasta was delicious, however the flavors were a bit dull. The food here was 11/10 and would love to come back ~

Excellent restaurant in Varenna. The restaurant is nicely decorated, and we were lucky enough to snag two tables on the spur of the moment. The service was very attentive and friendly. The selection of dishes is really good, with something for everyone, including vegetarians. The price-performance ratio is also good for the quality offered. Highly recommended!

Arrived in Varenna with time to spare before I could check into Airbnb and this was the first restaurant I stopped by so I decided to treat myself to lunch. The servers were very helpful and attentive. I had the trout carpaccio to start and Tagliatelle duck ragout. Both were some of the best food I’ve had in Italy. The trout was light and refreshing on such a hot day. And the pasta was pure comfort food. Highly recommend when in Varenna.

This was the best food we had in Lago di Como. The food was delicious, everything was prepared beautifully and tasted delicious. The duck ragu and the lamb were particularly amazing. The staff were friendly and the service was great. Highly recommend.

The lamb chop and salmon were 10/10!

No pudimos reservar para la cena ya que estaban completamente llenos para unas cuantas noches ( reserve con antelación! ) pero logró un almuerzo de última hora. La comida era muy buena y lo mejor que tuvimos durante nuestro viaje de 8 días. Simple pero increíble. La pasta en particular era excepcional. Esta es una verdadera joya y está alejado de las principales pasarelas a lo largo del lago, bien merece una visita.

Nous sommes allés dîner pour notre dernière soirée au lac de Côme dans ce tout petit restaurant situé dans les rues piétonnes du magnifique village de Varenna. L'intérieur comme l'extérieur sont absolument charmants, l'accueil est chaleureux, en italien ou anglais (avec quelques petites touches de français délicieux). La carte est restreinte et semble changer régulièrement, ce qui est bon signe. Nous avons partagé l'antipasti de poulpe grillé sur l'houmous maison, un régal. Puis nous avons choisi les calamarata au ragù de poulpes ainsi que le bœuf en tranches fines avec ses petits légumes, des plats savoureux, de haute qualité. Enfin, nous nous sommes laissés tenter par les desserts, une panna cotta au caramel salé et fruits rouges ainsi que le tiramisu (le choix du patron), un délice. Le tout accompagné par le vin local, un Terre Lariane qui se mariait parfaitement avec tous les plats. L'expérience valait largement l'addition à 113 €, nous gardons l'adresse pour notre prochaine visite dans la région.
