One of the best places for food around lake Como. Super private and cozy.

The food was delicious! We especially recommend the leg of lamb – tender, aromatic, and perfectly prepared. The selection of dishes was limited, but everything we tried was really good. It's a cozy place you'll want to return to.

A unique place with authentic and delicious cuisine. I'll probably always remember the ricotta ravioli, the lamb, and the local wine. This place is a must-see!

The lasagna, duck tagletelia, and lemon ravioli were all wonderful. The wines were very good. The tiramisu was average. Too sweet and not enough cream. You might as well skip it :)

Had a great last night here while on holidays in the area. A great location away from the crowds along the waterfront along with its tourist trap pizza and pasta joints. Like their neighbor La Scarpetta, Il Cavatappi offers a unique take on local ingredients and recipes. We had the Lasagne, the lamb, and the octopus. All were equally delicious and original. If there is a better restaurant in Varenna, it’s either very expensive or all hype. Owner also had a wicked sense of Humor. Highly recommended.

The interior is beautiful and the overall atmosphere is great. It feels like I've entered a new city. I like it very much. Although the network signal is not stable, Wi-Fi is provided, which is quite friendly. The appetizers are very good, the environment is warm and welcoming, which is my style. Now I look forward to the main course being served! 🍽️❤️‍🔥 It's delicious and rich, and the taste is full.

Food was amazing, portions are large so keep that in mind. Definitely get their pastas! They have very limited seats so come right when they open or might have a slight wait

No pudimos reservar para la cena ya que estaban completamente llenos para unas cuantas noches ( reserve con antelación! ) pero logró un almuerzo de última hora. La comida era muy buena y lo mejor que tuvimos durante nuestro viaje de 8 días. Simple pero increíble. La pasta en particular era excepcional. Esta es una verdadera joya y está alejado de las principales pasarelas a lo largo del lago, bien merece una visita.

Nous sommes allés dîner pour notre dernière soirée au lac de Côme dans ce tout petit restaurant situé dans les rues piétonnes du magnifique village de Varenna. L'intérieur comme l'extérieur sont absolument charmants, l'accueil est chaleureux, en italien ou anglais (avec quelques petites touches de français délicieux). La carte est restreinte et semble changer régulièrement, ce qui est bon signe. Nous avons partagé l'antipasti de poulpe grillé sur l'houmous maison, un régal. Puis nous avons choisi les calamarata au ragù de poulpes ainsi que le bœuf en tranches fines avec ses petits légumes, des plats savoureux, de haute qualité. Enfin, nous nous sommes laissés tenter par les desserts, une panna cotta au caramel salé et fruits rouges ainsi que le tiramisu (le choix du patron), un délice. Le tout accompagné par le vin local, un Terre Lariane qui se mariait parfaitement avec tous les plats. L'expérience valait largement l'addition à 113 €, nous gardons l'adresse pour notre prochaine visite dans la région.
