Excellent quality, I especially appreciated the orecchiette al lago. However, it would be better to have more options for appetizers, especially with local ingredients. The price is ok since it is in a very touristy place

This is a beautiful restaurant in the heart of sweet Varenna. The owner was kind enough to keep the restaurant open for my family as a walk in guest. It was the uncontested best meal I had in Lake Como. The caprese salad is both light and rich with a wonderful buratta. The lemon ricotta ravioli were to die for and the octopus was so deliciously enjoyable and fresh. The staff even provided a stain remover for my sister who spilled something. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

We waited about 10 minutes without a reservation, but it was absolutely worth it! The food was amazing—delicious, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The servers were all friendly and welcoming, making the experience even better. If you have the opportunity, you should definitely visit this restaurant. You won’t be disappointed!

The food was blunt, portions quiet small and board of cheese is some kind of a joke. You get something like 6 slices for 18 euro… if it would be some high quality cheese I wouldn’t mind but it was not that good. Steak was cooked well as I wanted but it was a bit chewe, which shouldn’t happend if quality of meat was good. My wife’s tagliatelle was was almost tasteless witch in this country is some kind of trap for tourist because it wasn’t first time that that happend. Service wasn’t either that nice as people write. We were siting at the table for at least 40 mins for waiter to show up with menu witch is a pity in that kind of restaurant, there was like meaby 10 tables for them to look after, so I don’t know what happened at that day.

Visited Varenna over the May bank holiday weekend and decided to try this restaurant after seeing it recommended on several blogs. Varenna itself is absolutely beautiful, and the restaurant is tucked away along one of the town’s charming, picturesque alleyways. We had booked an indoor table, which was cosy, though not as pleasant or comfortable as the outdoor seating. The tables inside were quite small and packed closely together, which made it feel a bit cramped. The service, however, was excellent—polite, attentive, and very welcoming. As for the food, it was good but didn’t quite live up to the high expectations we had for Italian cuisine. We tried the octopus pasta and the osso buco—both were well-cooked and nicely presented, but lacked that memorable "wow" factor we were hoping for. I wouldn’t say it’s the restaurant’s fault necessarily—it may just be a case of too much online hype raising expectations a little too high. One important tip: definitely book in advance. Varenna was overrun with tourists the day we visited, and without a reservation, we likely wouldn’t have found a place to eat.
