A wonderful evening that happened by chance during a stroll with my wife while we were passing through Sorrento on vacation. We were immediately greeted by a truly kind and polite dark-haired woman and a young man who we later met at the cash register, also friendly and super kind. Dinner with a priceless view, a mixed service of young, friendly people, led by a blonde woman who manages everyone with a strong hand and perhaps even a bit too strict, especially with a guy next to us who may have made a few mistakes, but in my opinion, it's best to avoid writing things down in front of customers and during service... given that she's also top-notch and professional, but again, it doesn't hurt if she relaxes a bit. Top-notch cuisine. Top-quality ingredients, and you pay for the quality offered, the view, the location, and the service, but all deserved. They then offered me a truly excellent local limoncello! Compliments to everyone, absolutely recommended: it's not cheap, in fact, there are pizzerias and other places for that; If you are looking for a memorable and impactful venue and a top dinner, this is the best.

Excellent food served on a lovely terrace in Positano. Luigi and Rossana were very professional. The whole team was very helpful.

We didn't have a reservation, but we didn't wait for a table and we had our table near the glass. The view is amazing, you definitely have to try it, it's an experience itself. About the food: they have fresh local fishes which taste amazing, we had lobster and a rare fish named clock fish with almost no bones(only big ones) and a sweet tasted meat, we really liked this one, haven't tried it before. As a starter we had some other fish served raw inside, to be honest this one wasn't really my taste, but it's just my taste, it was cooked and served like it should be. As a dessert we had an amazing lemon and limoncello tart. They gave us some other desserts, a starter and limoncello out of charge(from the house). The staff is really nice, some of the foods are prepared near the table(in front of you) and they give you all descriptions needed. Also the food comes fast. Those being said.. we really had a fabulous evening.

An amazing food and service experience with quite possibly the best view in all of Positano.

I have literally never left a google review in my life but have to on this one. My husband and I vacationed to Positano with two young kids (5&7). We walked by this restaurant and were daydreaming how nice it would be to have a nice adult meal with no kids. Come to find out Il Capitano is kid friendly, we immediately booked reservations. The atmosphere was amazing- glass paned patio overlooking the sea. Sadly, a giant thunderstorm rolled through as we sat down and the restaurant quickly pivoted moving everything indoors. We still had a stellar view. Amazing amuse-bouche compliments of the chef because of the weather. Indulgent reserve wine we can’t find anywhere else. Kids ate every bite. We waited for the rain to stop sipping amazing limoncello. Wait staff and other patrons were so inclusive with the kids. We could never have gotten this experience with our kids back in the states.. we will remember this for years to come.

Incredible food and incredible service. We received complimentary prosecco, chef’s specials, and after dinner drinks. The eggplant parmigiana and linguine alle vongole were just delicious. The restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating, attentive and welcoming staff, along with live music. I would highly recommend coming on your trip to amalfi coast!

Simply divine. The refined atmosphere and attentive staff cater to every guest's needs. Dishes that are beautiful to the eye and delicious to the palate, accompanied by a dreamy view. Highly recommended.

This was amazing! The food, staff, and VIEW!!

Excellent lunch, it was our second time dining there in a week. Beautiful view above the city of Postano. The Seafood salad ( Insalate de Mare) was the best I have tasted. My husband's pasta dish was also delicious. Great Service too!

Great view and very quiet. Fantastic view. Very expensive, though. Long drink €20, cappuccino €6. Very clean, toilets cramped. Recommended for those who don't like crowds. Excellent service. 👍
