The restaurant was referred by a hotel near by as an authentic Florence experience and it really was a nice atmosphere and we did well for the entree and the first dish. The food was tasty and the service was good. I’d stay away from the meat, which was our last dish and It was raw, so much so that I could not eat. As for the bill, I hate that we paid 100.00 Euros for the meat we could not enjoy, as for the rest of the check, it was really worth it!
Bottom line is be aware of the meat if you are like me who likes a well cooked steak!

We ate at Antica Trattoria Il Barrino last night, and we had such a great time that, once we'd finished, we booked another dinner for today!
We ordered the delicious Florentine steak with a side of potatoes on both nights; both dishes were spectacular, with an excellent use of the ingredients.
Along with the bread, they also serve delicious rectangles of schiacciata, topped with a mix of potatoes, tomatoes, or peppers.
The service was very friendly, cheerful, and attentive.
For four of us, ordering two Florentine steaks, a side of potatoes, three bottles of water, a coffee, and a cover charge, we only spent about forty euros each.
Highly recommended and worth trying at least once if you're in Florence or the surrounding area!

Amazing food and atmosphere. The staff are very attentive and friendly. Small and intimate which is great for a true family style dinner or bringing a date to impress.
The Florentine steak is a must for all. The recommendation to visit this spot was hands on great!

I ordered cacio e pepe and an unknown gnocchi.
The cacio e pepe was perfect in every way: the mantecaré, al dente, the sauce's consistency and saltiness, the texture, and the temperature. The gnocchi was equally flawless.
The bread served as an appetizer was perfectly warm, and the bread, presumably focaccia, was a wonderful start to the meal, instantly stimulating the appetite.
Just being able to eat pasta of this caliber in Florence was a truly glorious experience.
For travelers unfamiliar with European cuisine or Koreans accustomed to fast-paced dining, it might feel a bit slow, but personally, everything, including the leisurely pace, was perfect.
The detail of changing the dishes between meals was also impressive.
The seating might feel a bit cramped, but considering its central location in Florence, this is understandable.
If you prefer a more spacious atmosphere, you might be better off choosing a restaurant in a smaller town on the outskirts.
There were more locals than tourists, and the food was clearly made with care and love.
If I ever return to Florence, I'll definitely visit again. It was one of the best experiences I've had in Florence.

The usual Cacio and Pepper and Gnocchi.
The Cacio and Pepper are perfectly cooked: impeccably seasoned, perfectly cooked, evenly distributed between density and smoothness, and perfectly cooked and tempered. The gnocchi are always excellent.
Il pane servito all’inizio aveva una temperatura perfetta; probabilmente focaccia, dal sapore capace di stimolare immediatamente l’appetito.
Poter mangiare una pasta di questo livello a Firenze è stata un’esperienza davvero speciale.
Per chi non è abituato alla cultura gastronomica europea o per chi è abituato a ritmi veloci, il servizio potrebbe sembrare lento, ma per me quella calma ha reso l’esperienza ancora più completa. Molto apprezzata anche l’attenzione ai dettagli, come il cambio del piatto a ogni portata.
I tavoli possono sembrare un po’ stretti, ma considerando la posizione centrale di Firenze è assolutamente comprensibile. Chi cerca spazi più ampi dovrebbe forse orientarsi verso ristoranti nei dintorni o in piccoli borghi.
Frequentato più da locali che da turisti, si percepiscono chiaramente cura e amore per la cucina.
Se tornassi a firenze, mangerei sicuramente di nuovo qui. Una delle migliori esperienze vissute in città.

The seating may feel a bit tight, but given the restaurant’s central Florence location, it’s completely understandable. Those looking for larger spaces may prefer restaurants in nearby smaller towns.
The clientele was mostly locals rather than tourists, and you can truly taste the care and love put into the food.
If I return to Florence, this is a place I would absolutely visit again. One of the best experiences I had in the city.

A true gem just outside the chaos of Florence's city center that stole our hearts. The restaurant is meticulously designed, with the atmosphere of a typical family trattoria, simple yet incredibly welcoming. The highlight is the pasta, handmade daily. The food is delicious, flavorful yet delicate, with the freshest ingredients and generous portions. Honorable mention goes to the Tuscan wine, spectacular as always. Sincere compliments to the kitchen and the wait staff: the waiters are friendly, fast, and truly committed to making you feel at home. We'll definitely be back!
