A truly wonderful experience! The Candlelight event at the theater was beautifully organized: the candlelit atmosphere was magical, intimate, and very evocative. The theater is elegant and welcoming, with perfect acoustics that showcased the musicians' skill. It was a special evening, relaxing, and at the same time moving. I absolutely recommend it to anyone who wants to experience something different.

Located near the cathedral on Via Ricasoli, the Niccolini theater is the oldest in Florence, home to the Accademia degli Infocati (the logo at the entrance)—a bomb in the act of exploding. A precious little gem, finely restored, with a decent library attached. I saw the comedy Acqua Cheta performed by the Compagnia delle Seggiole... brilliant. The only downside: I was in the gallery, and the view isn't great. The seats are uncomfortable for those with long legs... they just need to raise the platform a bit... Overall, a positive evening.

I visited the theater on December 28, 2025, for a CandleLight event. It was very beautiful. Aside from the unique setting for the event and the pianist's skill, I found the theater truly beautiful, a little gem I hadn't heard of.

Bar Trattoria Pizzeria da Nasone

01/07/2026: We are visitors from America. Vegetarian. Some of us have nut-allergies. We were looking for some genuine local Italian food. This place hit the right spot for a few reasons: 1. The ingredients were naturally flavorful. 2. Not overcooked, not too raw 3. Not very greasy, but had the right amount of cheese. We tried the Spaghetti (without the pine nuts), Risotto (awesome), sides (Spinach with garlic and olive oil, Beans i.e. Fagioli all'uccelletto) and the glorious Panna Cotta (great with the raspberry and cocoa sprinkling). We walked in with very little hunger, just because it was time for dinner after a long tiring day of sightseeing. The hosts were very polite, gave us a great estimate of the wait time (15 mins) and served us well. We were very satisfied and might actually come back if time permits! Definitely recommend!
30/06/2026: Great pizza spot away from the tourist traps. Fantastic service and glorious pizzas at very reasonable prices, all in a modern setting. The team were friendly and accommodating, and it was nice to be somewhere filled with locals as opposed to tourists (like us!). Grazie!
