Wonderful experience, friendly staff, excellent food. Even though the place was packed both inside and out, the wait was zero. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Fabulous location. Next to the Estense Castle, next to the famous statue of Savonarola that stands in the center of the square. A great value, here you can enjoy traditional Ferrarese dishes.

Restaurant located at the foot of the Estense Castle, I tried the traditional menu, it was quite good.

A true and authentic Ferrarese osteria, serving top-notch local cuisine, exquisite dishes, a smiling and courteous staff, and fair prices. Highly recommended.

Despite its central location, it is not at all a tourist restaurant: the local specialties are very good, and in generous quantities.

I went there for lunch. What can I say? You're eating in one of the most beautiful places in Ferrara, with views of the castle and the beautiful statue of Girolamo Savonarola under the porticoes. It's also lovely to eat outside in the warmer months. I was greeted with a smile by a lady who was probably the head waiter, and that's saying something. They seated me and served me by friendly, hard-working waiters. They were excellent. I had an appetizer of local cured meats, a half portion (as the lady honestly recommended), good, no complaints. Then I went for pappardelle with wild boar ragù, which I really enjoyed. I would have eaten more, but the dish wasn't very large, unfortunately. Afterwards, I had a coffee and a grappa, both good. It cost around €35, but I must say it was worth it. Of course, you always have to consider the setting. And this osteria certainly has a great setting. I enjoyed my lunch break; within an hour I was back touring Ferrara.
