09/02/2025: I have always been a great admirer of La Smorfia, as well as a regular visitor. I have always appreciated the authenticity of their pizza, which in the past represented a real corner of Naples in the heart of Merano. The quality of the ingredients, the soft and honeycomb dough, the well-pronounced crust and the perfect cooking were the distinctive features that made this pizzeria special and different from the others.
However, I'm sorry to say, but something has changed lately. Pizza has lost that true identity that distinguished it: the crust is no longer what it once was, the lightness of the dough seems to have disappeared, and overall the flavor is flat, lacking that characteristic explosion of flavor that makes true Neapolitan pizza unique.
This evening, unfortunately, my experience was further marked by an unpleasant episode: I found a hair of beard in my pizza. The staff, with correctness, immediately apologized and offered to do it again, as well as not making me pay for it. I appreciated the gesture, but I preferred not to take another one. My wife, who prefers thinner and less "true" pizzas, nevertheless completed dinner without problems.
I write this review not to discredit a place that I have always supported and loved, but as a stimulus to review the route and return to the excellence of the past. I really hope to be able to go back to enjoying that pizza that made me fall in love with this place, with the same passion and attention to detail that made it a point of reference for lovers of true Neapolitan pizza.
