We came to Gattolardo after reading that they serve authentic bigoli con le sarde, a local specialty I’d been keen to try. We walked in without a booking and were lucky to get a table outside. When we asked about the dish, the waiter explained that it was out of season, and that their menu — apart from the pizzas — is seasonal and based on availability. I really respected that. Some places would serve it anyway just to please tourists, but here they clearly care about doing things properly. The menu was genuinely interesting and definitely aimed at the more adventurous diner. We had pasta with lake fish ragù and braised rabbit — both full of bold, distinctive flavours if you’re not used to them. The waiter recommended a local Candri Saottini Lugana white wine, which we instantly loved. The staff were attentive, friendly, and happy to answer our many questions about the dishes and ingredients. You could tell they were proud of what they were serving. If you’re looking for something authentic and thoughtful, and not just another copy-paste Desenzano menu, Gattolardo is well worth the visit.

The lady who served us improved the experience. She heard us speaking Spanish and tried to help us. We ordered eggplant with mozzarella and pesto as a starter, which was good. Gnocchi and ravioli were nothing special. Entrecote, a small portion, but the meat was tender. The wines are too expensive.

Excellent welcome, extensive wine list, and excellent service. Both the starters and main courses are delicious. A great place. I highly recommend it.

We had a wonderful lunch at Gattolardo in Desenzano! The pizza was simply outstanding – the dough was perfect, and the toppings were fresh and delicious. The wine was also excellent, a great recommendation from Nicola! The servers were incredibly friendly and attentive, which made our stay even more enjoyable. It was especially nice that we were allowed to bring our dogs – that's not a given everywhere, and it made our stay even more enjoyable. The ambiance in the small alley was simply gorgeous. We sat in the pleasant shade and enjoyed the relaxed, typically Italian atmosphere. We will definitely come back next time we're in the region! abbiamo preso 2 pizze io e la mia fidanzata, pizze buonissime e personale super gentile, l'unica cosa che mi fa mettere 4 stelle è il dolce, abbiamo preso un tiramisù, sconsigliatissimo, non sapeva di tiramisù e aveva un sapore aspro, quasi acido, però tutto sommato le pizze erano molto buone
