Focaccineria A Me Mi In Pietrasanta

05/11/2023: My Italian wife and I live close to Lucca and though we know many of the cities restaurants, “St Bartholomeo” is a new discovery for us and a welcome addition to our list of favoured Lucca eateries. We booked our dinner for five in advance and we received a very warm welcome from extremely friendly hosts Piero and Lele, both of whom speak excellent English (Lele used to live and work in Glasgow). There is a bright and airy ambience and in fine weather, there are tables outside. With our three friends, we ate extremely well and enjoyed a good hearty “Castelgreve” 2019 Chianti, most welcome on a very wet, chill night. My Carbonara was excellent. Crispy bacon in a wonderfully creamy sauce. This was followed by meaty pork spare ribs, covered in a rich rich BBQ sauce, served with winter warming Fagioli beans. I finished my feast with a wonderfully light Tiramisu, which barely touched the sides. Finally a boost for the walk back to the car with an Espresso of locally produced “Sodini” coffee. Within the walls of Lucca there are several rather pretentious and subsequently over priced restaurants. “St Bartholomeo” is not one of those. They offer delicious food at very sensible prices, served by extremely welcoming and cheery staff. We will return. Andrew Bruce

13/09/2023: Scelta fatta per caso in quanto il menù esposto molto invitante. Un'ottima scelta! L'accoglienza è stata super cordiale e gentile con spiegazione dei piatti che ti fa venir voglia di provarli tutti! Conclusione del pasto con un tiramisù davvero davvero ottimo! Il rapporto qualità/prezzo? Decisamente corretto!
