I've known and frequented the restaurant for a few years, appreciating its cuts. The staff are good people who work hard, often alongside the owners. Unfortunately, the Florentine steak on the menu didn't reflect the price and quality, in my opinion. Furthermore, it was poorly cut, poorly portioned, and the fillet was almost completely missing. It was also tough towards the side of the rib, even though the same product was better and technically well-executed some time ago. Furthermore, the grill on which it is served was too hot and caused the meat to overcook during the meal. The side dishes and skewer could also be omitted, leaving more room for the meat itself. This is meant as a constructive comment, not a pointless criticism.

I went with high expectations, but unfortunately, I left feeling truly disappointed.
- €75 meat, aged for 30 days, cut with a chainsaw.
- Meat served without a hot plate, and it arrives frozen, and it gets cold while you eat.
- Cuts like Florentine steak are to be avoided like the plague, poor quality, normal prices for Rome, and the same goes for the unsuitable plate.
- The butcher makes a big impression, dressed like a top expert, and even pleasant to think about. If it weren't for the extra-poor quality of the food.
- Total cost for two of us was just under €150!!
I didn't encounter any issues with the service in general; they were friendly enough despite the number of customers; they couldn't care less about treating you well. The atmosphere is noisy, but that's due to uncivilized guests.

They don't want you to ask for anything well done, but they should allow it for the hamburger (ground beef). One of the waiters has a very strong personality and some heavy-handed jokes. It's certainly partly a performance and "creates atmosphere," but it might make some people uncomfortable.

Friday, July 10th, third time at Macellaio: easy parking, impersonal, disinterested reception. The waiter was friendly, empathetic, but helpless due to the kitchen's delay. A red beer was pleasant for me and two out of four others. Over an hour (!) to receive four tough cuts of beef, difficult to cut with meat knives, despite the stated dry-aging, and a chicory. Forty euros and change per person.
I'll think about it next time.
The sauce was nice and wet! 10/10

Nice place, very friendly staff, knowledgeable about the meat.
We had a good-quality 1.5kg steak, but a few issues with the cooking—some parts were too tough because they were burned. They also didn't bring a griddle to continue cooking if we wanted it a little more done. The focaccia and side dishes were very good.
Value for money: 8.

Excellent food and plenty of it, service like a local restaurant. I've been there twice and both times I've found the waiter to be like someone at a circus. This kind of service isn't good, not even in a tavern. He forgets the little things, doesn't write anything down, and takes over 2-3 tables at a time. Otherwise, I'll be back.
