My kind of bar! This little gem of a wine bar was recommended to me by one of the staff at my hotel (Palazzo dalla Rosa Prati) – and I’m so glad I listened! Sit at a stool around one of the barrels outside, tell one of the friendly, expert staff what you like and let them choose for you from their awesome range of natural and boutique wines. I come here with guests on my small-group food & wine tours and the staff always manage to match a different wine to each person's preference. It's the ideal spot for aperacena too (aperitvo that becomes dinner) with excellent open sandwiches and plates of superior salumi and cheese.

Having heard great things about it from several friends, it was one of those places I'd wanted to visit for a long time. So I had very high expectations. Unfortunately I was a little disappointed. I was expecting a wine shop: not just "bombs" (it has an excellent selection of top unconventional wines) but bottles starting from 10 or 15 euros outside the usual ranges of natural wine distributors, and glasses starting from 3 or 4 euros (but under 5 or 6 euros I didn't find anything). I therefore struggle to interpret it as a wine shop: a place where you go for conviviality and spend the right amount, where you can learn to drink thanks to a place that acts as an educator of drinking well. But at certain prices you can't go there often... I repeat, nothing to say about the quality of the food and wines, but honestly I wouldn't go back for a glass or a bottle with company. Sin.

Fantastic food and wine (especially the raw Sant'ilario 40 months, cut with a knife, but also the cicchetto with horse pesto), super service and a very nice place. The only flaw is the lack of Parmigiano Reggiano. It left me a bit like this unfortunately.
