Degus In Milazzo

We ate very well, small place near the castle of Milazzo. Delicious first courses, everything delicious.

The raw fish and swordfish roll are excellent.

We enjoyed eating in peace and quiet. This was the best pasta of our last 9 days in Italy. We had the seafood risotto and pesto pasta. They were delicious. No pizza was available that evening. The waiter spoke English. The pistachio flank and the tiramisu were good!

The right definition is: EXCELLENCE. Excellence in taste, in the refinement of the dishes, which rediscover the true Sicilian tradition and which embrace you, with their flavours, as only our land can do. The excellence in the quality of the fish, of the raw fish that delight the palate, without forgetting the choice of wines and desserts, an excellent selection. For us it is a fixed and unmissable appointment, every time we return to Milazzo, since Degus has very few rivals.

We booked in the afternoon for a family dinner for 6. After ordering, in a very short time we were served the Sicilian appetizer, which was very good. Expectations were therefore high, also supported by the very pleasant context of the outdoor space in which our table was set. But after the starter the situation definitely gets worse when after more than 1 hour there is no trace of our dishes. Two tables seated after us begin to eat and we are still waiting. When the dishes finally start arriving the service is decidedly poorly coordinated as one of us receives his dish, finishes eating and the others nothing and so on for a couple. When we were all finally served we were still a little disappointed by: a pasta with Trapani pesto which was clearly a Genoese pesto (i.e. without cherry tomatoes) some rather tasteless Aeolian paccheri and the Malvasia calamari which - without it being indicated on the menu - they had a cheese filling that one of us can't eat. At the checkout we point out both the waiting times and the error in the pesto recipe but whoever was there, shrugging, passed the responsibility onto the chef without even trying to feel sorry, even pretending it would have gone better for me. When we said goodbye, we received a very limited response.

We returned to the restaurant on the occasion of the August holiday, excellent cuisine, accurate and precise service, traditional dishes and very fresh fish. I recommend it to anyone who wants to eat well and feel pampered in a refined and familiar environment.

Ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo. Pesce freschissimo, il crudo semplicemente divino. Personale molto disponibile e cortese. Tornare il questo locale è sempre un piacere.

Saliendo del castillo de Milazzo a escasos metros se encuentra éste maravilloso restaurante. Muy lindo por fuera y dentro, limpio, excelente servicio y trato, buenos precios y todo delicioso. Una excelente opción.
