Stopped into Ristorante da Mario alla Fava with my mom and cousin on Thursday around 5pm, and it felt like the perfect early-evening pause in Venice. The setting was effortlessly charming—intimate, relaxed, and exactly what you hope to stumble upon while wandering the city. Fahim, our waiter, elevated the entire experience with his warmth, humor, and impeccable attention to detail. Service like that lingers with you. A truly memorable stop—would absolutely recommend.

A quiet, historic restaurant in a central location. Traditional Venetian cuisine, specializing in freshly prepared fish, all fresh daily. Outdoor seating is also available in a quiet courtyard. Fabio is a wonderful person; he served us warmly and was very accommodating to our requests. I'll be back soon!

The restaraunt from the inside is super cool and I like the vibe of it but the food was really a miss. I ordered a pasta and it tasted like this cheap soup my mom would make except my mothers was better. The meat dish I ordered was not good, it was really whatever, just tasted like meat with sauce on the side. Smaller portions, treat it like fine dining.

30/01/2026: I came here with high expectations, made a reservation in advance, and specifically chose Christmas Eve dinner, the earliest being 7 PM. Unfortunately, it was windy and rainy that day 😂 (or perhaps the terrace was closed), so I couldn't visit or dine there. The atmosphere was steeped in history: the restaurant's interior retained a lot of Venetian-style decor, with mahogany furniture, exquisite tapestries, and sparkling crystal chandeliers, as if the air was filled with the lingering charm of 19th-century aristocratic social life. It had a strong retro feel reminiscent of Venice's Golden Age. The service was professional and top-notch, with a touch of Italian theatricality, which was quite distinctive. As for the food, it was a standard Michelin-starred meal. The most outstanding dish was the fish in the main course, which truly showcased their skill in handling fresh seafood. The truffle risotto, while generously filled with truffles, lacked the unique flavor of truffles. However, the final panettone was rather ordinary; this finishing touch to the festive atmosphere was underwhelming, probably a mass-produced version from a large company. Top-notch atmosphere and service! Of course, the bill was also top-notch 😂 It's a matter of opinion. The food was a bit formulaic and lacked something, making it less cost-effective. (Personally, I value the core functionality of a restaurant more.) But if you're going for the historical background and scenery, it's worth it.

Osteria del Frate dalla Manica Larga

20/04/2026: We chose this restaurant for an event for about twenty people. Everything was impeccable, thanks to the manager's extreme availability and kindness, even in accommodating menu additions and changes. The food was very well prepared, and the dining room was truly superb. The wait staff were also excellent, smiling and attentive to every need. I highly recommend this place, especially for a delicious dinner with good wine.
18/04/2026: Dining at this osteria is literally like stepping back in time. Authentic flavors that can no longer be savored like they once were, especially the house-made cured meats and cheeses, but above all, the attentive service of a staff ready to welcome and pamper you from the first to the last minute. At Osteria del Frate Dalla Manica Larga, the attention paid to guests goes beyond the mere professional relationship. It's palpable how both the owner and the entire staff are happy to open the doors of the restaurant to you and make you feel literally at home, offering a warmth and friendliness that is hard to find these days. A heartfelt thank you for the wonderful day you gave us.
