"It's impossible to eat well in Venice" an old warhorse of mine has finally been proven wrong (after dozens of confirmations...). I arrived at Ivo by chance, on the Accademia-Rialto route, after carefully selecting the right place to stop. A nice surprise. Excellent dishes. Fresh artichokes with crab meat, exquisite in their simplicity. An exquisite black risotto. My partner chose a traditional Venetian liver which did not disappoint. Excellent service. Only later did I discover that I was the favorite half of actors and artists during festivals and biennials. With good reason...

A traditional old style Italian trattoria serving very decent but unremarkable and pricey food. Service was excellent but one main course steak came out rare instead of medium but was quickly rectified. On presentation of the bill I was slightly bothered when asking if service was included they said it was, but none of it went to the staff which implied they were looking for a further tip.

Darling restaurant. Had the risotto with cuttlefish - divine. Service was excellent and a charming setting. No wonder Clooney loves it! Very cool clothing store across the street. Highly recommend

17/02/2024: Abbiamo trovato questo locale per caso percorrendo in una sera nebbiosa i vicoli veneziani, Il locale è arredato in legno ed è carino e accogliente. Gnocchi discreti, pizza buona. Personale gentilissimo e attento al cliente. Da consigliare
26/10/2023: I had a reservation here for 8:00 pm on 8/29/2023. This was our first night in Venice. It's tradition with us that we have pizza on our trips so here we are. My husband and I are looking forward to tasting pizza in Italy. We'll see how it measures up to pizza back home which we love. Santa Croce area. Easy to find. Short walk from the vaporetto stop San Toma. There is inside and outside seating available. We chose to eat inside. Seated at a lovely table. Observed a mix of what appeared to be locals as well as tourists dining here. I wish I had made note of our server's name. He was so friendly and provided excellent service. Started with drinks. My first aperol spritz and a beer for my husband. Not bad. Bread basket. The menu is quite extensive but we're here for pizza. At first I think the price on the menu is by slice but it's for the whole pizza. On trips we always order the margherita pizza as we're not sure if the pepperoni is going to be like what we have back home. We tried it on one trip and it was not like the pepperoni we're used to. Better safe than sorry. We also decide to order an appetizer which is mostly for my husband. He picks the moscardini which is octopus, potatoes, cherry tomatoes, and rocket salad. I tried it it. Not a fan to be honest but my husband said it was delicious. Pleasantly surprised. The pizza was thin style which we prefer. Crust was perfect. Just the right balance of sauce and cheese. It was very good. It was almost as good as the pizza we get back home but then the pizza back home is what we're used to. We have decided to try pizza in each of our destinations of Venice, Florence, Amalfi, and Rome. So far so good! Complimentary limoncello shots for a lovely ending to our dinner. Cost 37.50€/$40.59. Great food and great service. Would return.

28/10/2023: First timers in Murano. This place we did not plan to go to, but was TOTALLY SURPRISED by the kind service. The food was OUTSTANDING! Will be back.
15/10/2023: We ate here our last night in Italy; this restaurant is on the Island of Murano just outside Venice. Our table was rooftop and the scene was really lovely, with panoramic view of the waterways in both directions. The service was very good. I know they were pretty close to the end of the season but they were very accommodating even though there were only two other tables occupied. The wine was very unique in aroma and flavor, I wish I could find it again. We had a "Bacai" to start very tasty. I had the pumpkin gnocchi with quail; delicious- I would like to see more quail in the dish. My husband had the eel and liked it very much. If we are ever back in the area we would go here again.
