I've been looking for a restaurant near Naples Central Station for days. I chose the old trattoria da Donato because of the positive reviews and the fact that it opened in 1956 (they closed yesterday). I stand by those reviews and am satisfied with my choice. Despite a small disagreement with a waiter, which was resolved promptly and politely, I can only recommend this trattoria to everyone. Furthermore, the clientele is well-mannered, mostly small groups of friends or families, making it even more recommended.

It's a shame I only discovered this restaurant on my last day in Naples. Without a doubt, one of the best meals we had in Naples, but beyond that, the service was incredible. The restaurant owner (Marilene), granddaughter of the founder, is passionate about what she does and coordinates everything with great excellence! Incredible experience! I hope to return soon!

We were warmly welcomed even without a reservation and ate excellent pasta and potatoes. I'm so glad I chose this restaurant for my birthday dinner while on vacation in Naples.

Nothing outstanding, just average for any restaurant. I expected something different, given the number of people there and the fact that they only accept reservations. For dessert, we ordered baba: a poorly cut slice with a meager and bland filling. Best forgotten.

Simply divine. The Parmigiana alla Melanzane is epic, and the Spaghetti Carbonara and Linguine allo Scarpariell are simply delicious. We ate here twice because we couldn't get enough 😋

Welcoming place, friendly and helpful staff. The service is fast and high-quality. The dishes are delicious, plentiful, and very well served. We've been twice in two days, and we'll definitely be back next time we visit Naples! Highly recommended.

04/05/2026: Excellent value for money. We'd only gone to try the Neapolitan pizza, but we had the great idea to try the fried pizza... The portion of fried pizza for 4 (there were 6 of us) was so generous that we ended up eating half the pizza. 🤦‍♀️ The fried mozzarella-filled flowers were delicious!!! The pizzas were also excellent, thin and with lots of toppings. The pizza with the ricotta-filled crust was very tasty. 😋

24/04/2026: We celebrated our silver wedding on April 21st and what can I say, everything was absolutely perfect: the decor, the room, the kind, prepared and very professional staff, the food, well, every course was a mix of magic and love, everything was meticulously prepared, everything was excellent, in short, thanks again to everyone, especially to the owner and Chef Ciro ☺️
12/04/2026: Last night, Saturday, April 11th, we celebrated our daughter Claudia's 18th birthday, an experience that met our expectations both in terms of organization, entertainment, and cuisine. The host and chef, Ciro Cerqua, delighted us with the dishes he prepared and was always present, as was the wait staff. A very attentive photographer, DJ, and speaker entertained adults and children in an evening of pure fun. A special thanks to the speaker, Paolo. 😊
