It's worth opening the rather inconspicuous little door. Behind it, you'll find bright rooms and an excellent kitchen, complete with a wine cellar, and friendly, competent, yet unobtrusive service from the chef himself. A truly positive experience in every respect.

We decided to spend an evening at this historic restaurant in Montemerano. The location is truly unique, in a beautiful village. The restaurant is also warmly and elegantly decorated. The service was extremely friendly without ever being invasive, a real credit to a restaurant of this kind. The dishes were all satisfying overall, although from unique restaurants like this, you always expect something more, something that goes above and beyond and remains memorable.

It's certainly not ordinary cuisine. Personally, I ate well. The staff was very friendly. I chose the tasting menu.

Everything is wonderful. The only thing, if I may say so, for a 2-star restaurant, is that the crumbs on the table should be removed after each course.

È sempre un gran piacere sedersi alla tavola di Caino, con Andrea Menichetti magistrale in sala e la cucina sempre impeccabile e fresca di Valeria Piccini, sheffa incredibile e longeva, ora insignita anche del Cavalierato del Lavoro 🎖️ Dopo qualche anno torniamo e troviamo un locale sempre più bello e curato, e la mano dell’inossidabile Valeria sempre leggera, giovane e infinitamente creativa. Menù Estate vivace e divertente : su tutte le pietanze, il carpaccio di anguria, i ravioli di cuore di manzetta 🔝 e il piccione che non manca mai e che stupisce sempre. Nell’elegante sala, ieri sera sold out, veleggia Andrea con la sua sobria cortesia e l’enciclopedica carta dei Vini (che varrebbe da sola il viaggio) da dove estrae piccole chicche sconosciute ai più. Cortesia e professionalità a livelli pro. Prezzi commensurati ai locali dello stesso livello, alla dedizione di tutto il team e alla qualità del prodotti utilizzati. Ancora una volta usciamo molto soddisfatti e riconfermiamo il nostro giudizio: da Caino è per noi la miglior tavola stellata d’Italia ⭐️⭐️ il nostro posto dell’Anima 🤍

08/10/2025: If I could give more than 5 stars, I would!!! It's now one of my favorite places: superb food, incredibly fresh fish, and incredibly friendly staff. Highly recommended! P.S. Order the tagliolini alla marinara!
25/09/2025: Since we had a bad experience last week (long wait times, very loud) due to a completely overcrowded restaurant (at least two groups were there, participating in the sailing regatta off Follonica), we gave it another try and were not disappointed. Everything met our expectations.
