Nous avions un très bon souvenir et nous avons retenté l’expérience. Mais nous avons été déçu La salle est triste très peu de couleurs pas de fleurs. Aucun plat ne nous a impressionné, pas un plat qui ne soit chaud , pas de saveur particulière beaucoup d’herbes Dommage Un serveur particulièrement attentif compétent et sympathique c’était très agréable. Nous l’avons retrouvé pour l’excellent petit déjeuner

This exquisite Restaurant is a hidden treasure in the town of Montemerano- worth the special travel to the somewhat remote location. The food is produced from ingredients that come from the family’s produce and the availability from seasonal vegetables. The Restaurant is very homey in style and very comfortable. Service was incredible and we got everything explained by the chef’s son who was helpful also with the wine list. The food is a very sophisticated take off of classic Pasta dishes and some amazing inventive ideas that are tasty and make you wonder..

The village in which the restaurant is located is delightful, the venue is elegant and essential. 22 years of Michelin stars already define the level of the staff and the tasting journey, my opinion matters little compared to the enormous professionalism already widely certified. To customers: the environment is elegant but there is no real dress code, the only precaution is that if you return from the Terme di Saturnia or from the sea, the costume is obviously NOT suitable for the environment.

Sono stata in questo restaurant con mio marito. Avevo sentito parlare di questo posto da tanto tempo da amici comuni ed ero piuttosto curiosa di provarlo. Il locale si trova nel borgo di Montemerano un posto delizioso in Maremma circondato da colline e altri borghi splendidi come Sovana, Pitigliano, Sorano...Il locale si sviluppa su due sale con un pò di dislivello fra di loro, c'erano altri tre tavoli apparecchiati in un'atmosfera cordiale e rilassante. Abbiamo preso il menù degustazione in abbinata i vini. Chi conosce i due stelle sa che ci sono una serie di piccoli riti che sono stati tutti rispettati: amuse-bouche iniziale, il versare l'acqua e il vino quando il bicchiere è vuoto, il sorbetto per ripulire il palato, ripiegare il tovagliolo quando ci si alza ecc. e il personale che vanta anche ragazzi giovani (che bello!) è stato cordiale e gentile. Del menù ho apprezzato soprattutto i tortelli e il maialino in crosta; il resto delle pietanze francamente le ho trovate poco speciali (ben due piatti a base di verdure: zucchine e barbabietole a fettine) e anche poco abbondanti per quanto si sappia che non si va in qusti posti per ingozzarsi ma effettivamente abbiamo mangiato "poco". Nel complesso una buona esperienza anche se mi è sembrato tutto un pò freddo, un pò corto, mi è mancata un pò di passione. Il costo è in media con questi locali niente da dire perchè più o meno si sa quanto si spende in partenza. Ci sono stata volentieri ma non ci ritornerei.

We arrived and in the small alley that leads to the garden the first image was Valeria Piccini sitting talking to the team, a nice welcome, human and simple. The garden, bistro of the two-star Caino, was our greeting to the holidays. A great goodbye. We loved the connection with the territory, which is strongly felt, and the desire to make valuable cuisine accessible.

Elegant restaurant with very friendly staff. The raw materials are of high quality and the combinations are certainly interesting. We didn't enjoy the experience much despite having taken a tasting menu with wine pairing. We were surprised by the complete lack of attention for a little dog we had with us: we weren't even offered a small bowl of water. It's worth it, but there are some elements that surprised us negatively: the bathroom was old and not very well looked after and the entrance, perhaps not the main one, was a bit abandoned with some boxes in front of the counter. In short, having already had many experiences in starred restaurants, we can say that the food is worth it, but the expectations for a two-star restaurant were decidedly high and not fully satisfied.
