Stone-cooked trout, delicious! An excellent buckwheat tart with blueberry coulis!

We went to Crotto Ombra on a recommendation. We ordered two mixed grill platters and a side dish to share. To start, we were served two types of bread (dark/light) and bresaola. The mixed grill platter was truly excellent. Juicy, perfectly grilled meat. Lamb, pork, and beef, as well as a type of coarse sausage (salsiccia). Also included were grilled vegetables and polenta. The side dish was very tasty and a nice change of pace. Mashed potatoes with green beans and cheese. Perfectly seasoned. Great, friendly service with excellent advice on the food. We also really appreciated that the server pointed out that one side dish was sufficient. The mixed grill platter was more than enough. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant. Very authentic cuisine!

The revisited sciatt are good, but you can't miss the classics. The gnocchi are excellent, but not very garlicky and without cabbage. Manfrigole are excellent. Overall, good, although they could use an extra waiter.

During a few days' vacation in Valchiavenna and Valtellina, we chose to have lunch at this splendid restaurant in Chiavenna, nestled in a charming spot right beneath a rocky cliff. Even though we hadn't booked, and the restaurant was fully booked, the friendly staff welcomed us anyway, allowing us to enjoy a delicious lunch. We began with slices of bresaola already on the table, as well as a beautiful platter of exquisite local cheeses with honey and sauces. We then moved on to tender pork cheek with polenta and an excellent thick barley and vegetable soup. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the prices very fair, the service courteous, and the quality top notch!

A beautiful restaurant, clean, tidy, and decidedly pleasing to the eye. Excellent table service, with kind and attentive staff. The wait was short. The specialties were very satisfying and succulent, and I finished my meal with a delicious green apple sorbet with calvados.

We always come here in Chiavenna, and sometimes we even find a table without a reservation! When the weather is nice, they even have outdoor seating. We order a portion of gnocchetti and a mixed platter for two because the meats and vegetables are plentiful, and the polenta and taroz are fabulous! To top it off, the apple sorbet with calvados. Fair prices, and quick and helpful staff.

Simple, quaint, friendly and attentive service, excellent food. Add to that the easy parking... you'll definitely be back.

A great discovery, courtesy and substance. A unique and very welcoming atmosphere, ideal for those looking for something different. The service was fast and very friendly, making us feel immediately at ease. The food was excellent and truly plentiful. We ordered gnocchetti alla chiavennasca and ribs in lavèc (a type of pork stew) and polenta. Everything was delicious, and since the portions were generous, the owner offered to pack a tray for us to take home the leftovers. A kind gesture that shouldn't be taken for granted. The price was absolutely fair for the quality and quantity offered. We'll definitely be back.
