Colline Emiliane In Roma

Our best meal in Rome. Food was great, service was excellent. Reservations strongly recommended.

Had hoped to eat here 2 years ago on our last trip to Rome but it didn't work out so we made a point of it this time. Since they don't take online reservations we asked our hotel to book it in advance. Would definitely go back. There were a number of different things on the menu I would like to have tried but in the end, we were in the mood for one final night of pasta so we went with the tortellini in broth and the bolognese. Both were very good. The staff were friendly and efficient. I noted that they were very polite to some people without reservations and were able to accommodate them after a short wait due to some no-shows. It is a small space with tables very close together but it wasn't an issue.

Incredible food and experience. The gentleman up front really sets the tone for the whole restaurant he is animated and warm. I commented that I liked his pen and he gave it to me! Food was very balanced and well seasoned. Get the broccoli and thank me later.

Spectacular! The best pasta I had in Rome. Delicious starters and a super varied wine list. Excellent service. We ordered cotoletta with mashed potatoes and tagliatelle alla bolognese.

Overall, we had a nice experience, the antipasti platter was a pleasant surprise and really stood out, and the beef was also very good. The pasta and dessert were okay, but still enjoyable.

I’ll start by saying the food was great! The host was also really friendly and joked with us. I had seen another guest eating a vegetable dish that I didn’t see on the menu, I asked him about it and he said it was off the menu, but he’d be happy to make it for us! Now, the disappointing part - the service. We had a waiter come take our order, we ordered 2 pastas, the bread basket, and a coca cola (the veggie dish was ordered after through the host). The waiter pushed us to get wine, neither of us drink due to medical conditions. But that’s fine, it’s the culture and we politely declined. That was the last we saw of that waiter too. Our pasta dishes came out, no coke or bread. We had to ask again for the coke. The waiter was super attentive to his other tables, even singing happy birthday to another diner. Another waiter noticed we were lacking service and asked if we wanted dessert. We got a slice of pie and then had to flag someone down to pay much later. Again, none of the other tables experienced this lack of service. When we went to pay, we had been charged for the bread course that never came. Overall, we were very disappointed by the service at the restaurant. Maybe it was because we didn’t get wine. We were also the only Americans in the restaurant, I know we have a bad reputation, but I promise we were polite; regardless we’re paying guests. Again, the food and host were fabulous!

Deserves a tiny bit over 4 stars, the service is friendly, fast and excellent... The food is very good, you would expect a better wine list for such caliber of food... Sadly not!!! great place for lunch, make sure you book, it's always crowded...

My wife and I loved Colline Emiliane. First: the service. The staff were kind and interactive, even though we were obvious tourists. Second: the food. It was both traditional and creative, with deep and rich flavors. I recommend the tortellini in the broth, truly delightful culinary achievement. Third: the environment. The place was booked solid and the conversation and ambience was very relaxing and enjoyable. Go to Colline Emiliane! Reserve by phone in advance.

This place was amazing! You need to try it. Lots of forced Google reviews and tourist traps out there in Rome, this is not one. Authentic as this places food. Had the gnocchi and wished I got 2 servings. Tiramisu was great.

Excellent restaurant next to Bernini Square. Good food, great atmosphere, and lovely staff. A 10 out of 10.
