Had lunch on a weekday, small menu, handwritten on a board. Very friendly waitress/owner who really made you feel welcome. She patiently explained all the local delicacies to us and recommended the right dishes for the two of us. And, it was very good value for money. Besides us no tourists, a trattoria very popular with the locals it seems. You can watch the kitchen crew prepare your order, and the cook came to our table to ask if we liked his cookery. Absolutely recommendable, would come again if in Sondrio!

A positive experience at the "Cima11" restaurant and trattoria, recommended by Meta. It turned out to be a real gem in the center of Sondrio. The first courses, buckwheat ravioli with sage butter, and the pizzoccheri, were excellent, and they were perfect without the oil and floating butter that often happens. The second courses, impeccable and plentiful, included polenta taragna and sausage, and the tender stewed ribs. Highly recommended for the price/quality ratio.

We had lunch at this restaurant on Sunday, May 17th, without booking a table. They welcomed us with kindness and courtesy. We ate polenta with venison and a homemade tota, I would say pitanje swuisite. We will definitely be back.

A historic and locally famous establishment.
It's supposed to be an old trattoria behind the parish church, now a cult restaurant.
The welcome is always very friendly, even warm. Reservations are a guarantee, especially to find out about the daily specials.
The menu, visible outside and repeated on a blackboard inside, doesn't allow for any unconventional flights of fancy.
Pizzoccheri are the star, but there are also lesser-known dishes like taroz, or local favorites like polenta with eggs.
It used to be customary to bring a pot from home to take out rustic dishes like tripe and, if I remember correctly, even casseula.
Tradition blends with the highest quality products. Desserts are few, but memorable.
It's a drinkable experience, and there are classy wines like Sassella by the glass and also in quarts, which definitely makes the difference.
The price isn't cheap, but it's fair.
A more modern restroom wouldn't spoil the atmosphere; it would improve comfort and be welcome.
We're in the historic center, and it's a walk from the parking lots, which aren't always close by, but this adds to the place's old-world charm.

Every time I come to Sondrio, I can't miss this restaurant's pizzoccheri, which are delicious and authentic.
The menu offers many options...but the pizzoccheri, with their local products, are a must-try!

All good but prices above average for the category
In addition to the kindness and friendliness of the staff, the pizzoccheri were the best I've ever eaten!

We stopped here en route to Livigno, there was nowhere else to go at the last minute.
And their food.... is simply subliminal!
Yummiest Valtellina cuisine I've had so far.
I'll definitely be back again, the staff is simply to sweet!
Just 3 little tips for potential customers:
-Book pizzoccheri well in advance, if you wanna try them. They prepare them on demand and fresh from scratch.
-It's primarily open for lunchtime, so plan your timing accordingly.
-Learn Italian. This place isn't tourist trap non-sense, so you'll experience the real deal ;)
