02/06/2026: It's easy to say "Pizzoccheri"... and when you try Elisa's, you'll feel like you've never eaten them before! There's no need to waste words, just try them!
Her restaurant is a must-see, and a stay at her hotel is also highly recommended.
If you find yourself in Teglio (a gem of Valtellina) and the surrounding area, don't miss this opportunity! You'll be welcomed by simplicity, tradition, excellent cuisine, and a wonderful sense of family. Maria, Elisa's mother, won't hesitate to offer you the produce from her garden... herbs for the summer version of pizzoccheri, strawberries, and cherries, to name just a few.
The bresaola is also excellent, with sciatt, also handmade, of course... and what can I say about the Tzigoiner (meat on a stick)... sublime!
Regarding the hotel, I'd recommend the welcoming, spacious, and clean rooms. Spectacular views of the Orobie Alps can be seen from the balconies of the rooms overlooking the mountains and from the restaurant's outdoor terrace.
Teglio offers walks and easy hikes (e.g., a visit to the charming Menaglio Mill is a must-see) and is an excellent base for reaching Tirano and the Bernina Express to Saint Moritz, Livigno, Bormio, and its thermal baths. The Sanctuary of the Madonna di Tirano is a must-see, with its 14-meter organ with over 2,000 pipes, one of the most majestic in Europe and truly breathtaking. In Teglio, Palazzo Besta is definitely worth a visit. Enjoy your stay at Elisa's, the heart of tradition in the capital of pizzoccheri.
31/05/2026: This chalet-style hotel boasts a great location (the upper rooms also offer a splendid view of the Orobie Alps), private parking, and excellent cuisine. The pizzoccheri are sublime. I've never tasted so good and so plentiful. Unmissable.
