Went in September 2 years ago, everything excellent and impeccable, especially the chef Mr. Pio in the kitchen and his daughter as he served us at the tables together with my wife and children, of an exceptional family courtesy and above all humble United in a unique simplicity, this morning I thought of you in the meantime I was chatting with one of my collaborators about the typical Apulian specialties.....as a Apulian as soon as we have the chance to travel we will come and find you

What can I say if you come here to San Giovanni Rotondo for a *prayer to Padre Pio*, it would be a sacrilege not to pass by you Mr. Pio❤️.. welcoming restaurateur, his typical home cooking with broad beans and chicory, Pancotto, tripe with beans and if I wanted to continue you would only be spoiled for choice in wanting to list everything and certainly could challenge the most starred chefs and he would certainly win❤️ !!! I strongly advise everyone to book.. We will certainly return again a big hug to you PIO and ANNARITA...❤️

If you want to taste traditional dishes with the flavor of times gone by, you can't miss this place. Everything was perfectly in line with expectations: exquisite food and a warm welcome from the owner and his daughter who... make you feel at home. Di tanto in tanto con la mia famiglia veniamo a san Giovanni Rotondo per devozione. Oggi, abbiamo fatto una piacevole scoperta: la trattoria Chiazza Ranna. Abbiamo assaggiato gli antipasti della vera tradizione pugliese, mi riferisco alle fave e cicoria servite con pane bruschettato, al pan cotto con verdure e patate, alla trippa con ceci, frittelle di baccalà e altro ancora. Anche i primi piatti, abbondanti nelle porzioni, sono stati eccellenti. I prezzi sono onestissimi ed il tutto è condito con la simpatia di Pio (in gioventù, chierichetto di San Pio), che ci ha fatto sentire a casa e delle sue supersimpaticissime figlie Annarita e Rosalba (vittime consapevoli del padre burlone) e di Sara, esterna alla famiglia, che ogni giorno assiste a queste partite tra padre e figlie.. nello stesso giorno abbiamo fatto pranzo e cena perché ci siamo sentiti a casa. Lo consiglio vivamente a tutti coloro che vogliono assaggiare la cucina tradizionale, in una piccola location ma deliziosa!
