On Sunday 2 February we went from Lecce to the Sanctuary of Padre Pio and, after the visit, we had lunch at this trattoria in the heart of San Giovanni Rotondo.
Friendliness, availability and kindness welcomed us within the walls of the restaurant together with the abundance and quality of the food of all the courses of the fixed menu planned for the holiday.
A "real trattoria", which is now rarely found, where the typical dishes - prepared respecting the local culinary tradition - jointly satisfy the pleasure of the palate with that of satiety. All at an honest price.
It is a point of reference for lovers of good food!

Historic trattoria located near a square, ancient style inside.. home-made starter with generous portions, excellent first courses (I had orecchiette and trofie with sausage), punctual and friendly service.. family-run place..

Capitata a pranzo con la mia famiglia per far visita al Santuario del S.Padre Pio, posto accogliente, pulito e personale disponibile a trovarci posto per 9 persone non avendo prenotato. Cibo tipico consigliato dallo staff eccellente, tutto buonissimo. Registrata perché la prossima volta che capiteremo da quelle parti ci torneremo sicuramente 😊

Oggi a pranzo, dopo un pellegrinaggio nella Basilicata di San Pio a San Giovanni Rotondo, siamo andati a pranzo alla trattoria "chiazza Rana". Non è stata una scoperta, ma la conferma che qui non si sbaglia mai. Non importa cosa si ordina, perché qualunque cosa mangi è una delizia per il palato. Un ringraziamento alle signore che sono in sala cordiali e simpatiche e un saluto a Pio, oste di altri tempi. Dimenticavo, anche il conto non è una scoperta, ma una piacevole conferma. Torneremo.
