My wife and I had dinner here for her birthday. The restaurant has a nice seaside location, and the seafood is fresh, with customers able to choose their fish and shellfish before it is prepared. However, we left feeling a little disappointed. The food was decent, but considering the prices, we expected more. It felt like we were paying a premium for the location rather than for an exceptional dining experience. A coperto (cover charge) was also added to the bill, which made the overall cost even higher. During our trip, we ate at several smaller local restaurants that felt far more authentic and offered better value for money. This restaurant seemed to cater more to tourists than locals. Overall, the setting and fresh seafood are the main selling points, but if you’re looking for authentic Italian cuisine and good value, there are better options in the area.

We were there in mid-May 2026 and it was simply fantastic! The food was incredibly delicious and our waiter Pasquale was super friendly and attentive! The pizza maker Antonio even made me a heart-shaped pizza when I asked! Love it! The location was also amazing, so beautiful!

We've been frequenting this restaurant for years, and every time it feels like coming home. The welcome is always special, thanks to Mr. Black's sincere smile🖤 The quality of the food is always excellent, with fresh ingredients and authentic flavors that reflect the traditions of local cuisine. Special thanks go to pizza chef Antonio, who prepares delicious focaccias and pizzas with passion and experience! In a wonderful place like Positano, this restaurant is an unmissable stop for us. Congratulations to all the staff for their professionalism, courtesy, and passion. We can't wait to return!

Overall it wasn't bad, but even though we booked two weeks in advance, they gave us a table at the back. When we asked why, they said the hotel guests are first-class and outside guests are second-class.

Great location on the seafront at Positano. Evening meal. Lighting a beatify warm glow…such a change from restaurants that have far too bright white lighting. Restaurant decked out like you are inside a ship. Lovely vibe. We hadn’t booked on a Saturday night and the manager did all he good to accommodate us. We only waited 10/15 minutes. Food was great.. really great quality and our servers were so good. Roman in particular was really good and helped us a lot with our wine choice and his knowledge of Fiano wines. Fantastico!

Our first dinning in positano and we had an amazing time at chez black. Francesco did an awesome job serving us 👏 and suggested good plates that all tasted yum.

My husband & I had reservations at Chez Black in Positano, Italy during our vacation. Pasquale was our waiter & outstanding in every way. We were seated with an ocean view right up front, and our “heart shaped” pizza was delivered within 10 minutes & our drinks within a couple. Outstanding place to have a great relaxed meal! Someday, we will be back!
