Family atmosphere and service, in a characteristic setting of the place.
The gastronomic offer is what is expected but the refinement of the subscriptions and the excellent execution are not always obvious to find. Excellent morsels and accompaniment. Also noteworthy is the external view of the lake.

Excellent mixed cold cuts and cheeses
Spaghetti with venison ragout was really tasty
Fantastic service, even though my friends and I were a bit noisy (we hadn't seen each other for a long time) they offered us bitters at the counter

Ristorante sopra Laveno con una terrazza con vista lago Maggiore. Si raggiunge sia con a piedi da un sentiero che da Laveno porta al Sasso del Ferro che in auto. La terrazza offre uno scorcio unico. Il ristorante è molto caldo e accogliente, e il personale cortese e disponibile. D'estate (qualche anno fa) ho anche mangiato del gelato fatto con latte di capra molto buono.

Il ristorante Gigliola a circa 750m di altitudine, nella frazione di Casere di Laveno, si affaccia sul magnifico balcone del Lago Maggiore, luogo ideale per un ristoro dopo trekking per i diversi sentieri di media montagna che la attraversano ma anche per cene magari davanti al camino, nella bella taverna in sasso e legno. Cucina casalinga non banale e molto curata, con antipasti di salumi, formaggi, sottoli e sottaceti di produzione propria, ottima pasta fatta in casa (noi abbiamo apprezzato le tagliatelle alla farina di castagne, castelmagno e noci), polenta con selvaggina, funghi porcini, grigliate, confetture e dolci sempre di loro produzione. Buon rapporto qualità / prezzo. Porzioni generose.

Pranzo squisito! Accolti all’ultimo, ma trattati benissimo. Pietanze deliziose dall’antipasto al dolce. Consigliata prenotazione in anticipo vista la gestione familiare, su suggerimento dei gestori stessi.
