We had a great time, there were three of us - me and my parents - and we ate abundantly and quality dishes, spending around €40 each including desserts and wine, which I would say is excellent in a fish restaurant. Very attentive service despite it being a Sunday lunch (Mother's Day, therefore very full!) and the highlight was a very good and very nice waiter (Paolo, tui du scisi!). Loyal ☀️

Welcoming restaurant as well as the staff who welcomed us. Table for 7 people, we chose a €50 tasting menu which included: a plate with 6 well-presented cold appetizers, two hot appetizers including passatelli in broth (unusual choice, simple but nothing to say, good) and a polenta with prawns (the polenta is good and delicate, shame about the slight taste of burnt garlic on the prawns).
First course of your choice. I had the paccheri with seafood and crab, very good. I then tasted the risotto alla pescatora and the smoked gnocchi with prawns and vodka. Normal gnocchi, unfortunately the flavor of the sea was lost with the risotto. Excellent fried calamari and prawns that felt light, so new oil and the real surprise was the grilled fish, rich, delicious and super tender. Truly superlative. A good sorbet to clean it all up, with coffee and bitters.

Since I come to Marotta for holidays and various long weekends I hadn't considered this restaurant until last year... mostly due to the fact that it is located under a disused hotel which is a bit like Marotta's eco-monster. But frequenting the nearby Peppe's brewery and hearing a lot of Marottese people going to have dinner there after an aperitif, I told myself that I had to overcome this prejudice and try the California... I'd say I did really well... since then it has climbed up my personal ranking of seafront restaurants and has become, together with Le Vele, my favorite in terms of quality/price. During this long long weekend at the end of April I was there twice for lunch and I ate fantastic... their selection of starters and the mixed grill from the Adriatic are becoming almost a drug... the service from the guys in the dining room is also very good despite the crowds

A guarantee. I highly recommend the polenta with prawns and passatelli. But it's all great. Generous but not exaggerated portions and quality raw materials. Tradition, passion and professionalism. Safe place!

Servizio preciso anche se il locale era pieno.
Antipasti ok, polentina e passatelli in brodo sono una specialità da assaggiare assolutamente. Anche polpo e patate come antipasto era top.
Tutto promosso. E non capita spesso, andando in giro per locali, di trovare tutto come dovrebbe essere dappertutto. Bravi.

Senza l'animazione estiva il lungomare appare triste e anche il locale all'esterno sembra un po' abbandonato, l'interno invece è caldo, accogliente e piacevole; i tavoli sono quasi tutti occupati, segno che localmente è conosciuto ed apprezzato. Su consiglio di amici abbiamo provato il loro punto di forza, cioè i passatelli in brodo di pesce e la polentina con i gamberetti come antipasto, insieme agli altri antipasti caldi; a seguire gramigna con pannocchie e gamberetti e rombo al forno, tutto molto buono, nel solco di una tradizione di cucina semplice ma curata, familiare nei sapori. Le porzioni sono abbondanti, i prezzi nella giusta misura. Il servizio della giovane cameriera è stato efficiente e cordiale. Vale la pena di andare al mare d'inverno!
