Nice place. Excellent selection of croissants and brioches. Vegan options are also available. The service is a bit pushy, but you can sit back and read or chat. Perfect for dates and informal gatherings.

A splendid historic café with a very interesting bookshop inside and an area where you can work/write on the computer. At certain times of the day, there may be queues at the entrance, but once inside, no one will rush you and you can enjoy the magical atmosphere while tasting excellent coffees and delicious biscuits. An almost obligatory stop for anyone visiting Trieste.

An extraordinary, unique Central European place to buy classic and non-classic books, to sit and chat, to have lunch. It seems frozen in time, but it's very much alive. To the Greek owner I met and the Lombard bookseller, I say, "Don't change a thing." 🤗

15/12/2025: 5 out of 5 stars for everything! Location, setting, food, presentation, and the friendliness and kindness of the staff (a very important factor). All the dishes were excellent, their quality and presentation, and the empathy of the waiter (alas, I don't remember his name) who recommended the traditional biscuits with Marsala wine to finish our meal. This is a place where they make you feel at home, sitting at a table with friends. My husband and I will definitely return to this wonderful place.
