A beautiful and interesting cafe / restaurant/ book shop. 1st visit: We had drinks and lunch. 2nd visit: We had delicious coffee and a pastry. Their wide pastry selection all look yummy. 3rd visit: We had dinner and it was delicious. A definite visit is needed here when visiting Trieste.

It's very cozy, but it looks very old. You can't sit on some of the benches anymore because they're old and ruined. The coffee was delicious ❤️ and I especially liked the books.

What to say about this fantastic place is perhaps worth the entire trip to Trieste, two days of rest with part of my family and we were able to feast as best we could. Friendly and competent staff, a fantastic environment, pure Mittel Europa style, a well-stocked bookshop and truly excellent food quality.

Mi compañera buscó este lugar para tomar el café y postre después de la comida. Lugar emblemático en la ciudad de Trieste. Personal perfectamente uniformado, local precioso estilo del siglo pasado con una preciosa librería dentro. Múltiples opciones saludables para tomar café y repostería casera, aunque no disponían de todas las opciones que ofertaban en carta. Acompañaron mi capuccino con dos galletas buenísimas hechas por ellos. Compartimos una tarta de zanahoria vegana que no pudimos terminar, pues mi compañera tomó la iniciativa de pedirla para compartir. Higiene de los baños más que mejorable pero atmósfera ideal para hacer una larga y agradable sobremesa. Café y tarta normal.

Il locale conserva una bella atmosfera di epoca e offre del buon cibo per un pranzo informale. Forse il salato è migliore del dolce; ho apprezzato particolarmente la jota, vale a dire la tipica zuppa triestina con i crauti.

29/05/2025: We went there today passing through Trieste. Nice place. Very good dishes. Maybe the french fries were a bit too oily… but the rest was good. Generous portions. A warm greeting to the Sicilian waiter with whom we had a nice chat… we will definitely be back…
25/05/2025: Very nice and suggestive place, with a panoramic view of the seafront. Average food and prices. Very good dessert.

10/05/2025: Dinner for two with rocking appetizer, top marinated anchovies, polenta and cod. Being celiac, they offered me an excellent prawn and courgette risotto for two. Even gluten-free bread. I recommend it.
09/05/2025: I came to this restaurant for the first time on Easter day, I didn't book a table. The very kind lady made me sit on the terrace, as I am a smoker. They offered me the menu, I ate fresh and delicious fish, and had a glass of delicious Malvasia. The restaurant was full of people, but silent. I will be back as soon as possible. I absolutely recommend everyone to go there!
