Despite the many negative reviews I read, I was personally very satisfied with the croissants I took away. They were large, soft and delicious. The location is simple but elegant and the outdoor area has many seats overlooking the beautiful Piazza G. Garibaldi. The staff is kind and fast.

Caffè Roma is the Forte, the one that has remained intact, unrenovated. It's not the Forte standardized for new vacationers. For me, Bar Roma is wonderful memories, nostalgia, certainty. I walk in, have breakfast at the table, a smile from the bartender (the same one for almost 30 years), and I feel at home; time hasn't passed. Everything else is meaningless!

The overall quality is certainly consistent with the price paid, but the table service could definitely be improved. If you go to Forte dei Marmi, you know everything costs more, so for all those provincials who come for a day and complain about everything and everyone, posting fake photos just to discredit you or because you spent too much is a good reason to stay home.

The location is central, with endless tables: it's impossible not to find a seat. The cocktails are well-prepared, and the aperitifs are accompanied by delicious hot pizza. The service is uneven: paradoxically, the seasonal employees are the most helpful and kind, especially a young woman with long hair and an Eastern accent deserves sincere compliments for her professionalism and kindness. On the other hand, out of season, you're not always lucky enough to find empathetic staff. On more than one occasion, simply grabbing a coffee at the counter seemed to be a nuisance to the managers: I must have been lucky enough to be there on a few off days, but I hope it's not the norm.

25/08/2025: We visited the village and had lunch at Giaccó, just steps from the lake. The restaurant offers a la carte lunches for dining inside or sandwiches for eating outside. We had lunch inside, each ordering two courses plus water. The quality of the food was good, although everything was very salty. The menu doesn't have much choice; I don't understand why they didn't include a classic appetizer of cured meats and cheeses, given that they have them at their counter. It cost €32 per person, which was not bad overall.
17/08/2025: The food is good, but it's very disorganized. Fresh, quality produce, and reasonable prices.

Bar Martini

06/05/2026: A small, authentic bar with a lovely owner and waiter. Prices are a bit high for Italy, but the great aperitivo makes up for it!
04/03/2026: This is a sweet, traditional bar in the heart of the city, yet far enough from the main corridor to avoid being crowded. The owner is very friendly and helps me with my language skills.
