Utterly impeccable. Far enough out to avoid mass tourism, close enough to walk. 1 of a kind pastries, the chocolate pistachio actually blew our mind!

Caffè Lietta is a charming Italian café located right under the historic porticoes of Piazza della Libertà in Florence. It’s a lovely spot in a less tourist-packed northern part of the city center, ideal for people-watching on the sunny square with outdoor seating.
No doubt it’s A beautiful coffee shop. They charge €1 as table fee. The cappuccino is the worst in Florence. The pastry is only okay.
Go for the ambiance if not for the coffee and sweets.

Nice cafe, on a busy street, under cover outside on the street, enjoyed it.

A refined venue that allows for pleasant conversation inside or outside under the portico. The staff is friendly and very efficient. The pastry shop offers an excellent breakfast. Recommended.

One last little snack before travelling home: the salad was lovely, a little bit spicy.
Uncharacteristically I picked a tea with it (despite being a coffee fan, but no milk after lunch) - which was nice too.
I found the staff welcoming and the interior calm, however I can see how the café could become quite busy at lunch, in the evening or in summer.
It's a little gem to keep on my map in case I have the opportunity to return to Florence.
Edit: It is impossible not to finish a meal with a coffee in Italy. It was good 🙂.

A beautiful and welcoming place, with very tempting desserts... I'll gladly return!
I'm reviewing this again after a while. The quality of the coffee and pastries is confirmed to be very good, but I was disappointed to note that the dessert selection was far too limited for early afternoon. There was no fresh pastries at all, just cookies, tarts, and a few slices of cake. Even the famous piruli were sold out well before tea time.
Therefore, I'd like to constructively encourage you to enhance the beautiful place and the products offered by offering a little more choice for customers who come at tea time.
