Good for a quick coffee, prices are a bit high, great variety.

I've never been there, but they gave us assorted piruli as a gift, and it was a wonderful surprise. Highly recommended. They're beautifully presented, Estonian, with so many flavors and combinations, all beautifully made, with different consistencies. I'd definitely recommend trying them again.

I only have a savoury breakfast and occasionally an aperitif without any accompanying food.

I'm not a regular, but I happily stop by when I'm in the area, even though the leavened pastries aren't my personal taste, but there are so many other things.
Generally speaking, in Florence, there's a way of making croissant and saccottini dough that I'm not a fan of; here, I definitely preferred the puff pastry.
The highlight is definitely the "Pirulo," their famous shortcrust pastry and ricotta pudding, offered in various seasonal versions, and the torta della nonna, which you must try.
The establishment was founded under the loggias of Piazza della Libertà by Lietta Cavalli's daughters, who brought the historic Caffè Giacosa staff here. If you look up, there's also an open-view laboratory on the mezzanine, complete with a serving rack that brings down the hot pastries.
An important point to consider: the prices are a bit high compared to other bars in the area.
I absolutely recommend eating inside, where the atmosphere is refined.
Leave the outdoor space under the loggia to tourists, unfortunately; it's a no-go: the tables and chairs are uncomfortable, and the view of the square offers more smog and noise than fresh air.
Final note on the service: courtesy is a bit inconsistent; the welcome depends largely on who you find that day.
In conclusion, I'll happily return for a sfogliatella or a Pirulo when I'm passing by, but the overall customer experience could be improved.

Just tasting their typical sweets, piruli, is worth the trip. They're delicious and come in a variety of flavors.

We chose Caffè Lietta for breakfast during our stay in Milan, and it was a fantastic way to start the day.
The highlight of our visit was definitely the Pirulo. It was incredibly delicious and available in so many different flavors that choosing just one was surprisingly difficult. My personal favorite was the red berry version, which was perfectly balanced, fresh, and full of flavor.
Whether you are looking for a quick coffee, a sweet treat, or a complete breakfast, Caffè Lietta has everything you need to begin your day on the right note. The quality of the food and drinks, combined with the pleasant atmosphere, made our experience truly enjoyable.
If you’re in Milan and searching for a breakfast spot, don’t waste time looking elsewhere—Caffè Lietta is ready to take care of everything you need for a great morning.
Thank you for such a delicious start to our day. We would happily return on our next visit to Milan.

We enjoyed an excellent coffee and delightful pastries at Caffè Lietta this morning, probably the best coffee stop during our stay in Florence. Highly recommend! Plenty of outdoor seating, and a sweet park across the street!

Food is 5/5 but service is 0/5
The lady at the cashier can be more polite and friendly
We had already placed our coffee order and settled into our seats.
Since I don’t speak Italian, it took me a while to scan and understand the menu. When I finally settled on ordering a cioccolato pistacchio pirulo, the lady at the cash register said, “only one?” — her tone brusque and unwelcoming.
But to be honest the dessert and coffee are great.
