The place's fame had raised expectations that weren't entirely fulfilled. The artichoke appetizer was hard and cold, and the chicken steak was also lukewarm (the dish was already cold when it arrived) and served with cherry tomatoes that weren't exactly fresh. The stewed beans, however, were very good. Prices were quite high.

Very beautiful structure, a taste of ancient history exudes from the walls and in the air, a very beautiful and pleasant atmosphere... with the utmost attention from the owner, holding his role very well (I think it's him 😊 the gentleman at the counter 😁).... excellent cellar, good service and cleanliness of the place, very well-kept location and the present and friendly service is also welcome... I still have to come back to you... to understand the artichokes... ☺️😂 see you next time 🤗

I give it 5 stars for the location, the service, and the quality of the food. The first course was exceptional, but... the tiramisu definitely needs updating.

There were six of us there on December 28th. It was very loud. The food wasn't brought. No apology, no forgiveness. The food was quite tough and of poor quality. I would rate the food as satisfactory. It's a shame; I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

31/01/2026: We arrived in San Daniele by chance and stumbled upon this restaurant as soon as we parked our cars. The atmosphere is lovely, clean, and welcoming, with a central fireplace lit, creating a lovely atmosphere. The staff is friendly. We really wanted to try the much-vaunted local prosciutto, and it was much appreciated—exceptional! Afterward, some friends ordered the cheese frico with polenta. Not everyone liked it because they thought it was too toasted, which is probably due to the recipe. A few others and I ordered the tagliolini with radicchio, and here, we were completely satisfied! A good red wine accompanied everything! The price was fair and honest. Great and professional!

Vecchia Osteria alla Pieve

11/03/2026: Everything was good, the owner was friendly and welcoming. The cold cuts and cheeses were top-notch. The meat was also top-notch.
05/03/2026: Delicious food, top-quality appetizers with cheeses and salami that you cut at the table. The braised cheek with polenta was exceptional. The ricotta and orange tart was also delicious. The waitress was very kind, and the owner/chef explained the daily specials. The atmosphere was very friendly. The prices were very fair.
