Quality dishes at a more than fair price. Very friendly and fast. If you're looking for an unpretentious lunch with excellent food, this is the place to be.

A small but well-organized place. Even if there's a line, they move it quickly. They take your order while you're waiting, so your food is brought to you quickly once you're seated. The small place does lead to high noise levels, especially during peak hours. However, the service is friendly and welcoming. The food is excellent.

A historic venue since 1964. Excellent buffet with freshly prepared dishes.
I recommend the sardoni and octopus with potatoes.

Excellent local dishes, including breakfast ones - I especially recommend the sandwich with ham, fried eggplant, mustard and horseradish - it's a hit!

You can eat both buffet-style and at the table.
Open only for lunch, it's great for workers and anyone who wants to try traditional dishes at a good price.
The prices are excellent, as are the dishes. If you're standing, I absolutely recommend the sandwich with hand-cut ham and horseradish, the Lubianske (meatballs), and the breaded zucchini.
For me, the pasta with hare ragù is the best.
They also have desserts that are pretty good.
The only thing that isn't good is the coffee and the sweps, which I find warm or flat. Everything else is perfect.

A little gem hidden in the heart of Trieste!
Buffet Da Gildo is a cozy, simple place with an authentic atmosphere, far removed from mass tourism.
Perfect for those who want to discover the typical flavors of local tradition.
The service is fast, always friendly, and attentive.
The menu showcases the influences of the city of Trieste, the people who have inhabited and passed through it, with dishes made only with top-quality ingredients.
The gnocchi with goulash are absolutely not to be missed: the sauce is rich and flavorful, while the gnocchi melt in your mouth. The sardines are also excellent, fresh and crispy.
Although for me, a special mention goes to the sandwich with hand-sliced cooked ham, enriched with fried eggplant, mustard, and horseradish: a strong and authentic combination, worth the visit alone.
The prices are truly fair, especially considering the quality of the ingredients.

il posto è molto ricercato, un bel po affollato.
Sono stato qui di passaggio per pranzo, da solo
Avrei voluto dar un voto più alto perchè il pranzo era stato di mio gradimento, tuttavia la cameriera (la bruna) appena mi son alzato per saldare il conto, ha rimosso le cose che avevo lasciato sul tavolo per liberare il tavolo per il nuovo cliente.
E' stato molto scortese, e ha rovinato quella che doveva essere una recensione da pieno voto
Eh non ho resistito, anche se mi ero già abbuffata Al Spaceto, dopo tanto tempo, sono tornata da Gildo, anche per vedere se era cambiato qualcosa col cambio di proprietà. Non è cambiato ! Sempre al top per qualità (le melanzane e zucchine fritte qui sono le migliori al mondo per me) e simpatia!
