We've enjoyed a very pleasant dinner at Bar Dante Alighieri! The staff was very enthusiastic and willing to help us quickly and professional. The risotto, lasagne, and fitting Barlettaio wine were amazing.

For the past 25 years, my first stop after arriving in Tuscany has always been Bar Dante in Radda. Even under the previous owners, the portions (I always have pappardelle with wild boar ragù, a mixed salad, and a glass of rosé wine) had become smaller. When I went there this year on May 1, 2025, the old owners were no longer there. They'd sold, the new owner told me. I ordered the usual fare, but surprise: the plates were larger (large rim, small hollow), but the portions were slightly smaller, both for the pappardelle and the salad. The prices have remained the same, as has the quality. But that was still the last time!

Very welcoming and sunny place, like the owner! I arrived at 11 and he insisted on sitting me down for lunch, he understood that I was hungry and I was ashamed! 😂 He helped me with the choice of wine and it was a pleasure to stop there to taste the selected local cured meats. I will soon have a pasta with pecorino and speck, it was all delicious and surely, as soon as I am in the area, I will return to eat and drink something!

New owner since February and although I was always very satisfied I immediately noticed that something has changed. Service is more extensive, owner has a very good knowledge of wine and together with his wife and staff they are a fantastic team. There is a fresh wind blowing through Dante. What I also noticed was that Dante is open longer in the evening. Very nice because we arrived late but could still join for dinner at 21.15. Claudia and Virginia keep up the good work!

What a gem in the Italian countryside! We dined with a group of 15 friends and had the most fantastic experience.
The new owners (Feb 2025) Claudio and Virginia are delightful, committed and so gracious. Their food was excellent and the service was better than many 'fancy' places. Claudio is a skilled sommelier and he pointed us towards a wonderful and affordable Brunello to complement our food.
And the tiramisu for dessert...OMG so good!
If you are in Radda in Chianti do not miss dining at Dante!

la consegna da App in fase di ordine era alle 20.45. Poi è stata spostata alle 21.00. Alle 21 l'ordine è stato consegnato. Avevo chiesto "non piccante" ma era piccante.
Pizza buona... Ordinerò di nuovo sicuramente!!!

Ci fermiamo in questo locale all’entrata del centro storico, attirati dall’ambiente famigliare e senza fronzoli. Ai tavoli sparsi nel gazebo, una clientela fidelizzata di residenti e lavoratori e qualche turista di passaggio fuori stagione. Scegliamo un tavolo d’angolo con la tovaglia rossa a fiori bianchi. D’intorno e appesi alle pareti vasi di fiori e oggetti che rimandano al Sommo Poeta e alla Divina Commedia. La ragazza ai tavoli ci accoglie con il sorriso. Attenta e professionale, ci spiega i piatti del giorno. Menù legato al territorio, saporito e di sostanza. Prendiamo pasta e fagioli e risotto allo zafferano e pecorino. Cucinati davvero vecchia maniera. Sapori ormai difficili da trovare nei ristoranti. Alla fine ci fermiamo a fare quattro chiacchiere con i proprietari, Carolyn e Fabrizio. Lui di qui, lei inglese. Quarant’anni insieme. A far crescere il Bar Dante, uniti dalla passione per questo lavoro. Carolyn ha raccontato anche in un libro questa storia famigliare, “Life behind in Bar”, in mostra in un angolo all’entrata. A completare la squadra, le figlie. Elisabetta in sala e Carolina dietro al bancone. Torneremo presto, per l’atmosfera che abbiamo trovato e per provare altri piatti della cucina locale!
