Babette In Roma

A delightful corner hidden behind the large Piazza del Popolo, almost as if it were the backstage of a frenetic Rome. Here, to welcome us, the extraordinary “young ladies” Silvia and Flora: two souls that smell of passion, hospitality and love for quality raw materials. Every day of the week, in this place, has the flavor of a Sunday lunch, regardless of the weather. The welcome with a potato and white truffle soup was the first, tender cuddle that confirmed the feeling of being in the right place, from the first moment. And then the sea bass fillet… a triumph of simplicity executed to perfection. Dear Silvia and Flora, I can't wait to come back and visit you. Thank you so much.

Completely overpriced and far from fine dining Yesterday, I went to this restaurant with my boyfriend on a recommendation – and honestly, it was a waste of money. The place tries desperately hard to appear "fancy" and exclusive, but neither the food nor the ambiance even comes close to living up to that claim. I paid €30 for a tiny piece of duck breast with two small pieces of fried potato – a portion that could hardly pass as an appetizer. My boyfriend got a piece of meat smaller than a baby's hand. The whole thing felt more like a sample from a supermarket counter than a serious main course. The restaurant is definitely not exclusive. The ambiance is mediocre, the restrooms are okay, but none of it is "fine dining." The dishes and cutlery are also more reminiscent of a simple trattoria – there's no pretense of style or quality here. If you're trying to implement an upscale concept, you should at least ensure that the china, glassware, and table decorations live up to that standard. But even there, there's room for improvement. The decor seems unloving, the overall look immature. And the chef—without getting personal—should seriously consider true fine dining. An apprenticeship or internship at a restaurant worthy of the name would be highly recommended. I was honestly shocked at how much money is offered for so little here. This was my first and definitely my last visit. I can't recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Nice, quiet atmosphere with interesting art. Wonderful staff and delicous food. The sea bass was very tasty.

In Rome it has always been one of my favorite restaurants. Excellent food, interesting atmosphere. Quiet despite being in a very central area. Highly recommended.

Este restaurante, que hemos visitado en los últimos dos años, nunca decepciona! Tanto es así, que decidimos cenar en dos noches separadas y disfrutamos mucho de ambas ocasiones. Nuestra anfitriona era extremadamente educado, amable y muy acogedor. La comida que se ofrecía era DESTACADA en presentación, calidad y sabor. El chef es un verdadero genio. Además, el personal de espera era competente y todos llevaban una sonrisa encantadora. Nos gustaría agradecer especialmente a Pietro, que nos hizo sentir especiales y tan en casa con su maravilloso servicio y un muy educado, y muy apreciado, sentido del humor. Tante grazie, Pietro... .. lei e’ simpaticissimo! Toda la experiencia fue perfecta en ambas ocasiones. Sin duda volveremos a Babette cuando planeamos volver a visitar Roma el próximo año.

Mia sorella ed io conosciamo questo ristorante da una vita: tornare è un grande piacere. Margherita è affezionata al piatto di pasta che vedete nella fotografia, io ho preso un roast beef meraviglioso (anche questo nella fotografia). Il luogo, l'atmosfera e il servizio sono eccellenti.🌸
