Arcadia In Torino

Supposed to be the awesome place but wasn't. Supposed to be the incredible food but wasn't. Staff was extremely busy but nice and helpful on request. A well known and nice place but not the exceptional famous experience we were said it would be.

The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was nice, but I didn't find the food anything special.

An elegant lounge in the elegant lounge of the Galleria Subalpina. A pleasantly retro atmosphere, true to the Savoy spirit of Turin. The food was very good, though not particularly impressive. Their trio of appetizers was well-made (the tartare was good, the veal with tuna sauce was excellent, and the parmigiana was passable). The ravioli with roast beef sauce were good (the brown sauce was excellent, but I would have preferred the agnolini del plin). The fillet Wellington was good (the pastry could be improved, too thick). The desserts were good. The lively Barbera was excellent. The service was attentive but a bit rushed (our fault, too, for arriving late). The price was reasonable.

Meticulously prepared traditional food, with reinterpretations and other original dishes that are very successful (like the smoked salmon). The wine cellar is very well stocked. The desserts are excellent and almost too generous. The elegant atmosphere remains pleasant, aided by the high ceilings. Each dish is carefully prepared and made with excellent ingredients. Attentive and precise service.

Good restaurant, excellent food, and good service. The price is normal for the market; not cheap, but fair for what it offers. Normally, a starter and a main course should be enough. I mention this because the menu always includes a choice of starter, first, and second course, but in Spain, it's more common to order starters and a main course. We usually only offer this multi-course menu for events or group meals. I mention it out of curiosity. Otherwise, the place is very nice, welcoming, and the staff is professional and attentive. The food was very good. I ordered a regional starter (cured meats and minced raw meat) and a risotto (very good, by the way). They also have Japanese food like sushi. If you want to eat something different, something local, and not fall into the trap of pizzas or pasta, this is a good option. The price of drinks like beer, water, or wine is very reasonable, not expensive at all. The experience as a traveler, not just as a tourist, was good. I recommend it.
